Use the "search" feature in windows and find it that way.

I would do it. Makes gauge hijack so much easier to read.

"gauge hijack" is when you request the JB4 to change the normal display functions of your fuel and oil gauges to read other variables; such as boost or engine timing under certain conditions, such as throttle greater than 50%, for example.

The boost gauge on dash is the best thing since sliced bread. I personally also use timing on dash all the time when tuning.

It's all in the first post. Steering wheel controls guide is an attachment with the directions right on top of it.

terry i can see that clearly ,but let me explain this the way it should be explained to a beginner like myself:
"use the in dash controls to enable / disable gauge hijaking ,for example option 2 ,1 will let u use the petrol meter to read "Boost on Fuel" information ,so the petrol needle will tell ur boost info instead of petrol info"
my question ,whats the "timing on Fuel"? ,how can i interpret this reading?

The JB4 is defaulted to 335/535 USA mode. If you have a 135 or metric 335/535, you will pick the appropriate option to recalibrate the gauge read outs. Once selected the gauges will all center themselves at midpoint to let you visually verify if you've selected the proper mode.
|
Hey Terry, would you use this so it's easier to see which options are set with the jb4 or for things like boost gauge hijack or both? I don't have the JB4 yet but will look to buy it next month so just wan't to check before I order.
Thanks!

Metric Speedo Calibration issue -

Hi Terry,
I can confirm that the custom firmware you gave me fixed the calibration with the 135i speedo.
Thanks!

Terry you need to look at the one-click thing I mentioned.
You just need your own MS Website and in Visual Studio, you just publish the app to the web site. The first time we install, we go to a URL, from then on, the software checks for updated when it launches.

T, looking forward to you porting autotune over to map3
Any chance you can add an option to have the blinkers flash a few times if it sees a knock related timing drop? Or maybe an option to kick it down to map 0/4? I figure once the map adapts you really should not see a timing drop unless there is something wrong.

Timing drops are fundamental to the autotuning concept. But the idea is to identify and limit them vs. running too hot of a map and having them come up several times per gear run after run.

Don't we get timing drops even at stock boost levels?

Of course. But the more drops the better the indicator that you don't have enough octane to support the power levels you're producing.

Terry, once you gather data, is there an auto-tuning map that works with progressive meth on the horizon? Loving map 3 + CMGS now but auto tune would be nice.

BT cable favor request -
02-28-2011, 10:08 AM
Has anybody here who has the JB4 (set in map zero) tried to adjust condition based service using the Barvarian Technic software?
My BT software worked before the JB4 but it will not reset CBS now. I can not communicate with the modules. Will somebody pelase see if you can adjust something harmless your cabin filter status? Or change your spark plugs by 1 percent and see if it will adjust the values?

If you're doing your own tuning, which we don't suggest, you'll want to look for frequent sharp drops over 4800rpm but before the shift, that are not DTC or throttle related. Those indicate an increase in knock sensor activity and that you're potentially too hot for your octane.
