Need Opinion (log reviews) -
10-13-2019, 02:22 PM
2018 bmw m240, I recently installed a jb4 and tested the car and I did not feel a big. difference in power or response. im running map 1 with a stock car. and from what I have read I should feel a big difference (40+ Hp gain). I included a few logs one on map 0, map 1 and map 2. running 91 oct on a 90+ degree day(may be a factor) any help would be great. logs were done in 3rd gear, DSC off from aprox. 2500- 7,000

Yeup... IATs are getting high and will negate power. Look at your timing. It's low, which takes power out. Test/Compare in cooler outside temps to see the real difference. In 90 plus, for me, 3rd gear doesn't break loose. In the 80s or lower, it's spinning tires easily.
91 Octane sucks... Gotta get that up to really play and see the benefits. I'm using 8oz of Boostane Professional (equals about 95oct) and WMI. Really wakes the car up.

Map 2 on 93 should be good overall. If temps are over 90 it's still an issue. 100 plus and the power will be even less for to timing dropping out. However, your motor will be safe. Lol.
When you switch, log again and review your timing and trims. You should be good to go.

I'd agree... map 2 looks great. Trims are showing that you're running out of fuel though so I'd stay on map 2 until you can get more fuel and/or trim adjustment. (BEF, WMI, CPI, etc.)

You aren't maxing out yet, but trims are staying in the higher band. They generally like to run lower when fuel system has enough room to allow it. It's just experience after reviewing many logs and knowing how the M240 responds.
Adding the DnPipe won't alter this, but it will affect your boost curve. You should get the EGW harness and install at the same time. Set bias all to 50, basically off, and adjust from there. Below 50... boost lowers, Above 50 boost is raised. You'll need to adjust the curve slightly to compensate for the DnPipe.
