N55 PS2 maxed WGDC... Wastegate adjustment? -

Been trying to dial in a new PS2 install. WGDC has pretty much been maxed no matter what I do. In one of the logs posted I got a misfire and the run stopped short, I'm just showing that in map 7 I can hit boost target but the most I've been able to pull is ~23 pounds. I did my best to put the wastegate back to the original position but the paint dot chipped so I may be .5-1 turns off from the stock setting. Could that be what's causing my issues? Just want to double check before I head to BMW to pay them for the ISTA adjustment.
I've already had a shop check for boost leaks. My meth bung plug was a little loose and that was tightened but it didn't resolve anything. My EWG harness was a little suspect (slightly melted from being too close to heat shield) so I've already replaced that as well.
fud d menu 64 , did you have a disabled wastegate adaptation ?
your boost failsave is also under your map 6 boost settings
your duty bias settings go up and then down again thats a bit odd
should be something like 50 50 50 55 60 65 70 75 85 95 100 100
Running the JB4 E85 PI BEF.
Wastegate adaptation is not disabled.
Boost failsafe doesn't do anything on the latest firmware so I didn't raise it when I installed the PS2.
As far as duty bias settings go, I was adjusting it and fuel bias chasing the trims... trying to find a setting that made it happy, but then I realized my WGDC was pegging high and I'm not able to get any reasonable feedback to shape the ff curve. I've been up and down on duty bias and nothing I've done has given me a reasonable wgdc. How I have it set now at least makes it driveable.
I'm not sure what FuD 64 does. But on E series I had FuD 0.
I'm not in my car right now but I'm 99% sure the only FuD bit I have enabled is the one that tells JB4 I have a BEF installed. If it weren't for that I'd be 0.
*edit* I just looked at the table on the f series jb4 post and 64 corresponds to only bit 6 enabled (the BEF bit).
with your setup , you must be able to get 24psi logs
you're barely scratching 20psi and only for a short period
Yes. Those logs are in map 7. I was going to switch back to map 6 on my way home from work. I've seen 26 once on map 6 but I can't get the car to be consistent right now.
Got a drivetrain malfunction (misfires) on a couple (I think 1st and 3rd logs). FF/Wastegate adaptation moved from 50 to 49 to 51. Accidentally started 4th log at 3k instead of 2k. Looks like FF is consistently below WGDC, but at least WGDC isn't maxed anymore.
Spool is really lazy, that doesn't look normal. You definitely have some sort of leak going on there. I would check it out before pushing the turbo that hard.

I don't disagree, but the shop smoke tested it and didn't find anything other than a small leak from the meth bung, which has been sealed up.
Is it possible that I need to tighten the wastegate arm? I didn't get it calibrated after the install, I just put the nuts back as close as I could to the original positions. Should I just go get the ISTA calibration?

You really need to do a pressure test, not just a smoke test. IMO, smoke tests are for vacuum leaks. This spring when I brought the car out, I was having boost problems and when I tested it, I had a leak that didn't show itself until 12psi and then another that wasn't apparent until around 20psi. You're not going to find these with a smoke test.

Still trying to figure this out. I was planning on taking the car over to MOTIV on Friday but he had to reschedule. Might have to jerry rig my own pressure test kit after all.
This weekend I got a "Wastegate line disconnected" code with limp mode 3 times. I replaced my EWG harness as part of troubleshooting this a few weeks ago. Just checked my connections and everything seems healthy, short of pulling the dsub pins out and inspecting. I guess next I'll try plugging the stock connector back in. Any concerns running 100% e85 on map 7 with the stock ewg connector?
Also can anybody comment on how the wastegate actuator should feel when I play with it by hand while the engine is cooled down?

The wastegate line disconnected code is an odd one. I was battling that code for awhile. Terry told me to update my firmware to the latest and it went away. The latest at the time was EWG_15_T1.hex
I did have it pop back up on the EWG_15_T5B.hex firmware, and Terry told me to lower PID gain from 14 to 8. Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to test that again. According to Terry: "WGDC going too high at low throttle is the normal cause." for the WG Line disconnected code.
Sorry I can't offer much input on the reason why you're not hitting target. It looks like a boost leak to me, but you said your shop found none =/. For what its worth, I have about 80% WGDC @ 20-21 psi on my PS2 M2.

How tight is your wastegate when the engine is off? I set mine back as close to factory as I could. I just checked and I can get a degree or two of rotation in the actuator with the engine cooled down, I can hear the wastegate opening and closing.
