I just had both of these codes come up on my 2008 135i. Idles great! No bogging or feel of lose of power. Running a JB4 on map 5. Always run 91 and full synthetic oil changes every 5k miles.

I just replaced all spark plugs and coils last night thinking that would take care of the misfire in cylinder 2 (it didn't). I went to harbor freight today and got a cylinder compression tester. 120 across all 6 cylinders. I know it’s a little low but could it be the actual harbor freight ****ty compression tester? Is my compression to low or is it the injector causing the misfire?

As far as the P112F code goes I'm going to check for vacuum leaks first. Is there any correlation with these two problems or are these totally separate?

For the misfire in cylinder #2, switch the coil from another cylinder and see if the code follows. Also check the spark plug for moisture(fuel) and if it smells like fuel then it could be a leaky injector. And a leaky injector will foul the plugs. It happened to 3 of 6 of my injectors and ended up replacing 5 with index-12 since that was all I could get at the time.

P112F could be a map sensor issue or something associated with that function.

I just purchased new coils and spark plugs yesterday. They've only been on for 24 hours. So I did a compression test and all cylinder came back 120 PSI. Is this low enough to give me a misfire or is my misfire coming from the injector?

If your compression is good across the board. You want to rule out everything ignition related, and yes injectors do affect misfires.

Even new coils could be defective, but you can rule that out by switching them around. Check your plugs and gap if it’s non oem plugs, like NGK if that’s what you are running.

Should I pull the plug on a new injector?

Ive already replaced the coils and spark plugs with Bosch 2 nights ago. Checked compression with a crappy harbor freight tester and I had 120 PSI across all 6 cylinders. There wasn't any oil on the cylinder 2 spark plug, which has the misfire. Is it safe to say it's the injector?

Check and smell the plug for fuel or moisture. And did you switch the coils around to see if the code followed or remained?

I moved the injector from cylinder 2 (this is the misfire cylinder) to cylinder 1 and plugged my OBD2 in. No codes at all, everything was good! The misfire didn't even move to cylinder 1, but I did clean the tips of the injectors with brake cleaner when I had them out. Regardless, I now know its the injector and I ordered an index 12 last night with a new decoupling element.

I think these were my original injectors because my car is 2008 and these were index 8? And they were so damn snug in the cylinders, I had a very hard time getting them out.

Yeah those are pretty old generation injectors. That’s good you got new ones, as I too had to get index-12 injectors. Since I had a misfire due to leaky injectors.

I tried looking everywhere for what's coming out and couldn't find anything! I am glad you told me about this cable though because I didn't know about it. Do you have their cable and have you downloaded all the software that goes with it? Do you have a link of whats coming out on May 27th?

Bimmergeeks cable is one of the best cables out. Loading MHD/BEF flashes are slightly faster than others. Yes I own one.

Awesome thanks man! I was reading about their cable and what it can do with the different softwares out there. But I couldn't find the May 27th update or whats coming out. Appreciate the input though!
