The newest firmware is located on the first page of this thread under the last picture (The engine bay) in Terry's post.

JB4_B48_B58_14_T11.hex

I recommend always using the newest firmware whenever they update it.

Yes the maps are different, I would definitely data log map 0 for a baseline then map 1 before moving onto the others. Once you get a log of the new map I would recommend posting it in the "Support & Log Review" Forum. Either Terry or one of the other BMS support will review it.

Ex: I was running map 3 for a couple of weeks posted it and my trims were maxing out and it was not ideal for my car (M240i). Thus with 93 octane map 1 is basically the safest and most ideal for me to be running.

Hope this helps, I would still wait for one of the support guys though on their advice!

Morning BurgerFolks!

I just bought one of your early beta JB4 units for the B58, with the metal housing.

Can you tell me - is the unit weather resistant? Have there been any hardware changes since this unit was produced?

Thanks!

Yes, but moisture and condensation can still get through if you put it near a rain drain under the hood.

Added v15 firmware to the JB4 firmware database linked in the first post to start to get some logs in.

v15 BETA

1) Revised map guide, map4 is now absolute 20psi map and map5 absolute 22psi map, especially useful for Supra/M340i applications on E85 mixtures.
2) Revised boost control system for vehicles equipped with the EWG connector. Set duty bias to 50 across the board as the new default settings.
3) Added CANflap support for newer models.
4) Adjusted FF to save unique values per map to facilitate boost targeting during on the fly map changes.
5) Added speed logging parameter.

I think minor changes to the board, nothing major that would need attention.

Swapped from V14 to V15 for my Supra, duty bias changed to 50, I see FF is set default at 0, is that function still the same as V14 where I had it around 100 or do I keep it at 0?
Also I'm assuming pid gain remains unchanged between both versions?

I apologize if the answer to this question has been covered elsewhere, but I've been unable to find it.

On the JB4 firmware versions, what does the "T__" designation mean in the filename?

For example:

File Type: hex JB4_B48_B58_14.hex (79.9 KB, 2020 views)
File Type: hex JB4_B48_B58_14_T11.hex (79.9 KB, 653 views)

Which file should be used in what situations?

Thank you!

Those are just notes for us.
Higher the number, the latest one.

You'd want this one JB4_B48_B58_15_T16.hex

So the "14.hex" file is made of notes and the "_Txx" version is the firmware? Hmm...

Whatever the case, I think I hear you saying "always use the "_Txx" version", yes?

Thank you again!

Tried V15 firmware for 2 days, it's been very annoying for my application:
2020 Supra, jb4 with EWG harness installed, Titan downp, drop in filter running map 6 with great success on V14.

Migrated to V15 with same map setup, the car spiked like crazy upto 28psi and went into limp mode.
Reset and went to 50 duty bias and played with FF and setup to each for a couple of pulls( 0, 50, 100) , results are almost the same, I'll always get throttle closures down to 40s%.

Also, there seems to be a bug, when I am on map 6 and do settings/user adjustments and save, these settings are saved for map 6, let's say I then run map 5 and then I go to the user adjustment to play around, I'll find totally different FF and PID settings which I can change again, if i save and select map 4, the settings would also be different, unlike V14, no matter which map you are on, that custom table is only reserved for map 6 and would t be different for each map.

One last issue, with v15, I keep getting fault 12AB04 rear O2 sensor disconnected where I will get limited with boost, stop car, reset codes, go for a pull and find that I'm boosting well but I get throttle limited to 40-50% again..

Almost always, DME BT is lower than ecu psi.

Reflashed to v 14, cleared codes, car is pulling perfectly again.
