No, unfortunately not. I bought it from a guy at work who was selling his car. It was the same year as mine so I assumed it would be the same harness. I’m upgrading to an n20 map anyways so I might as well just change the I take manifold map and swap harness connectors over. Looking at the wiring diagrams it seems pretty straight forward. 1-4, 2,3, 3-2, 4-1. Either that or I find someone to trade harnesses with. I can’t justify buying a new harness while being and electrician myself.

Exclamation Harness - 11-18-2019, 08:10 AM

Gíday

I am very ashamed to admit to making two purchases of JB4 units having only recently acquiring the vehicle.

Firstly I brought one from friend of a friend which had same engine and being a F body.Upon attempting to install the unit I soon discovered my complete ignorance to the situation as the JB4 is for a EWG.In summery both the board and harness are incompatible with my model.

The next course of action I undertook without rest was to actually make known to myself what exactly my specifications in every detail as not to make such foolish mistakes.

Of coarse now Iím ready to purchase another JB4 however this time I know what I need.My car is as follows a 2010 535i F10 N55 8AT RWD RHD with 66 000 km
showing on odometer and is completely stock.Another friend of a friend with what I thought the same car had a JB4 for sale so yep I brought it.

Wow JB4 unit compatible no so with harness wrong connection type.

Question
Do the harnesses differ other than clip type

Question

Is wiring same

Request

If there is any wiring diagrams available for this I would very much
appreciate it

I can upload photos if required

In my defence everything here is upside down in Australia

Regards Snafu

You'd need a TypeA harness for your car, sort of rare in the F chassis PWG format. Best off selling that system and buying a new one for your specific application IMHO.

There is not a wiring diagram sorry. At a minimum you'd need 2x male and 2x female typeA connectors to replace your typeB connectors. Problem is you won't be able to purchase those connectors anywhere.

Thank you

Well connectors fit on in reverse just don’t clip on
I should be able to simply reverse wiring on two of them the other two fit as they should

To your knowledge would this work

Thank you for your time I really appreciate it

I’m not entirely sure about your first question but I can’t tell you that I went to a junk yard and found the connectors I needed for both map sensors and simply reversed the order they went in. Instead of 1-2-3-4 like you currently have place them 4-3-2-1 in the new connector. To do this you simply put the clip side of both connectors facing upward and one for one the wires. It’s really simple to do. There are two clip on the side of the connectors that release a door, once that is up you can see a metal retaining tab on each pin. Press in down with a jewelers and then pull the wire Bentley our of the connector. Open the door on the new connector and press’s in place, close the door after the four wires are installed. Easy least. Hope this helps.
