Default Axles, manual vs automatic - 09-24-2020, 01:15 PM

Are manual axles compatible with automatic cars, specifically 2013 E92 335i xDrive? I'm looking at GKNs because they're OE but cheaper than BMW, and I can't find the rear left auto axle anywhere. ECS calls the manual "compatible" but they don't ask if your car is manual or auto.

Thanks, I've also seen different part numbers for them, I'm just wondering about compatibility. Based on searching the manuals may be heavier duty but still fit, which would be fine with me (better actually). Of course I want to know for sure before buying.

Yes I see the same, and I see some websites such as ECStuning etc that show one of the part numbers as an exact fit without distinguishing between auto or manual trans. My '13 335 xdrive is an n55, F30 with pwg and I have found websites multiple times that show a part as compatible when it wasn't so I make sure to do my homework and research until I'm confident I'm getting the correct part.
