Default N75 flash tune /map 0 +wmi - 06-21-2021, 02:31 PM

Here is a log from my 2019 Veloster 1.6T running a N75 flash tune on MAP0 with BMS WMI and map6 with no added boost with BMS WMI.

Map0 ran a 13.57 @104 on e30.
Haven't ran Map 6 with dragy yet.

Meth appears to be working fine. IAT's are good and trims drop as well.

Thanks for looking. Is there any point in using map 6?

Not really...map 0 is fine unless you find you need to make other tweaks on the JB4 side.

You can try any Map with the JB4.

Didn't you previously say the JB4 is set to fire the WMI on all Maps?

Map 6 will see more benefit when EWG is enabled for the smaller engines (TBA).

I don't think I want to try any other maps other than map 0 and map 6 lol.

Yes, I do have my JB4 set to fire on all maps.

I have been waiting for ewg control. Hopefully it is here sooner than later.

For Map 6 it looks like you can add a pound of boost from 4K to redline.

If torque limits have been reduced it should pick up some power. The boost is higher near redline vs my car where it drops to 13-12 and then 7-8 by fuel cut.

Your meth flow is at 8 psi?

Yeah, Terry emailed me the other day with the same suggestion. Tapering up to 1 psi.

Yeah my meth flow starts at 8 psi. You think it's too early?

I start my flow at half of total boost. Peak boost is 23 psi (Map 3) so 11.5 psi.

Timing recovers faster. I think flow (the nozzle size) needs to be cut in half so that some advance would appear and build on that as rpm increases. It would make more power.

I am likely going direct port at some point.

I have thought few times that maybe bm7 is a touch to big for the 1.6t and maybe try the bm5 nozzle. Can't hurt right?

I would like to find a spare manifold for direct port.

I actually bought a larger nozzle to try but I think I'll try one of my AEM nozzles even if they are a bit shorter than the Burger nozzles. I think the BM5 is similar to the CM5 which is 440cc@200psi.

Still think that's a bit much. Smallest AEM nozzle is 250cc. Talking with Leonard of QT performance who runs WMI on his Veloster Turbo. Uses a AEM controller and 250cc nozzle.

He's able to get inlets down to 60 degrees mainly by starting the flow early as in WOT but no boost. I've seen practice use with on the Aquamist forums when it was still up, especially with pre-turbo/volute injection.

Anyway I think this is the right move because knocking down timing hurts acceleration, especially in drag racing where the system is on for a short period of time vs say roll racing event like Shift Sector where your at WOT for 20-30 seconds.

I hope my parts show up tomorrow and get my car back.
