Default Injectors from bmwpartswarehouse - 02-05-2017, 12:03 PM

Has anyone had any experience with the injectors from bmwpartswarehouse? Apparently they are updated s63 injectors, which are the same as n54 injectors. Just over a hundred bucks each but doesn't have much info besides a part number. Not sure if they come with decouplers or not

I just ordered some on Sat. Will let you know what I am given. Their shipping is extremely high, but still cheaper than other places.

I just did a quick search and found that price at like 4 different places. Google is your friend.

FYI re the new part #:

Difference Between Direct Fuel Injector 13538648937 and 13538616079
It is a well known fact that direct fuel injectors in N54, N63, and S63 applications are a replacement item. In fact, BMW has even had several problems with these injectors where some vehicles in the United States are covered with a 10 year, 150,000 mile warranty on the injectors. It is also a well known fact that these fuel injectors are expensive and in most cases you must replace all injectors in one cylinder bank if the index number on the pre-installed injetors are below a certain number. However as of October 2016 a new injector was released through BMW as part of a TSB specifically for the S63 V8 found in the E70 X5M as well as the E71 X6M. The new part number cannot be found in the ETK BMW catalog. The service bulletin specifically says to order p/n 13538648937 instead of 13538616079 which is the expensive injector sold by dealers and most online retailers. Both the 937 and 079 injector are index 12 and the part number on the injectors both read "13537585261" and then "-12" to notate the index number. With that said, what exactly is the difference in these injectors.

Not much is the simple answer. Both injectors as referenced are index 12 and come packaged the exact same way. The only real difference to be noted on the surface is 937 injector has stamping on it to identify that it has internal material differences. The internal differences between these injectors is the following:

Internal filter
Optimized thermal compensating oil
The TSB is specific for the S63 V8 which is the highest stock output engine that uses this particular type of direct fuel injection system. Remember, that the N54, N63, and S63 engine in ETK use the same fuel injector. With that said, the 937 injector can be used in all applications safely and in theory it should be a better long term solution compared to the 079 injector that is specified for N54 and N63 applications. The good news about this new 973 injector is it is half the price of the 079 injector. We have done some testing on our end and have verified that this new injector performs the same and has the same increments of calibration. For those interested in the TSB from BMW the number associated with this injector is SI B13 08 15. How can you tell the difference between the standard design and and improved design. Per BMW, there is stamping on the injector noting this. However, from what we have seen the stamping they refer to is on all injectors. Therefor, the only true way to tell the difference is based on the part number on the packaging since the standard and improved version look identical unpackaged.

Remember, when installing these injectors you must carry out a DME calibration by entering the calibration number off the injector and entering it during the coding process. Failure to do so will result in poor performance and misfires. FCP Euro also carries an array of specialty tools to aid in installation of these injectors as well.

Why not provide the links or names of vendors that are selling for $108 each? Myself and google are good buds and I don't think you can back your statement up ;-)

Here is another place to get about the same price:

https://www.bmwpartswarehouse.com/Pr...de=13538648937

https://www.bmwpartswarehouse.com/Pr...de=13537564751

OR

https://www.bmwpartsworldwide.com/oe...00-13538648937

https://www.bmwpartsworldwide.com/oe...60-13537564751

The price worked out the same for both sellers for me. I chose #2 over #1 because it appears #2 is located in central USA and #1 is in west coast.

bmwpartsworldwide
11030 w 159th Street
Orland Park, Illinois, 60467
USA
1-866-250-3000

Which a quick google search shows me it must be this dealership:

http://www.bmwoforlandpark.com/

I feel better knowing its a stealership that I might have a better chance of getting REAL OE injectors. You can find index 12 injectors on ebay and amazon near this price but who the hell knows what your are getting. A lot of them are direct from china and could be remanufactured parts...

BMW parts warehouse is simply BMW of San Francisco's discount site. I simply called my local dealer about 30 miles away from SF, said I am sending you a link to BMW of SF, this is the price they have for these. I need it matched. He called me back, and said I can do $110 each delivered. I had them in 2 hours. I would bet if you guys tried the same with your local dealers you might be able to do the same.

That's awesome and as per bmw parts you should have a good warranty! (unlike the rockauto injectors from a few years ago!)

Good idea, its too late for me! Still the price is good enough even with $30 shipping.

And yes, these should have BMW parts warranty and you know they are legit. Will post a pic when I get mine.

Just got mine from bmwpartswarehouse using the 937 part number. The guy called me and said they weren't the right part number and I needed the other one (079 that was 2x as much). I told him to send the 937s.

Not installed yet, but they have the same stamping as the 079s (1353 7585261-12) on the injectors. Should be 100% fine. I got mine for $725 shipped with the decouplers.

Mine arrived in 2 days. They did not call me but sent an email to confirm VIN. Got index 12 and all look good. Paid $730 shipped as well.

Nothing wrong with my current injectors that I can tell but I am replacing for the sake of it. I have a mix of index 6 and 9 currently in the car and don't want to wait for failure. When I got the car last month, I knew I was going to replace the coils, plugs, injectors, OFHG and water pump right away (she's about to hit 60k miles). The car already had the turbos and walnut blasting done at 45k ... hoping to make the next 40k uneventful.

mine didn't come with decouplers
is it ok to reuse them from old injectors?

The correct answer is you must replace them, however, some people reuse them.

IMHO, dont take a chance, just replace them.

Did you ever fit these injectors? I am very curious to see how they perform, considerign the huge saving.

I installed and have been using the injectors for some time. No issues at all.
