Talking 535xi, first time on dyno, stock turbos - 09-25-2017, 09:57 PM

Temps were around 90 F outside but felt warmer inside the dyno bay. Had some timing drops that I normally don't see on the street which caused the spikes in the curves and inflated the final numbers a bit, but overall I was pretty happy with the result.

Mustang AWD Dyno
FBO+ (VRSF stock location inlets, cone filters, downp1pes and 7" HD FMIC)
Mr. Fuel It Stage 2 pump
e50ish with JB4 e85 BEF

The dotted lines on the graph were the first two runs back to back, the solid line was the final run after a 10 minute cool down. Planning on going back when the weather cools off a bit...

Congrats, great number on stock turbos. The car must feel great!
The stock turbos can make some good power it's just too bad it doesn't last.
I was hoping to dyno my E61 FBO+ on 93 but my stock turbos just let go.
Oh well, time for some RBs.

What downp1pes are you using?

They are VRSF p1pes with some 'modification' to clear the front axle...

Just a quick question, For Stage 3 turbo can our automatic transmission
handle the power and torque? My turbo is about time to be replace.
Don't know if I should go with stage 2 or stage 3? I want power but wish mine is 6 speed manual transmission.

Thanks,

Eddie

Nice, I don't love the big flat spot AR puts in there's so I made my own set using the OEM bell mouth.

Sure, just as well as an E90 or any other N54 auto. It's a matter of how much torque you are looking for and at that point the front diff is going to be your first issue depending on how you use the car...especially on a heavy E61. There is plenty of info out there on this subject.

Not a lot of options for the e60 xi's, seems like a true dual 2.5" set would be good enough...

Yeah, I agree. Straight 2.5 is essentially what I made for my car. Have to smush a pipe to call it 3" seems senseless.
