Well if it is any consolation I do think these will still work on the angled style, but a true angle style charge pipe should be a much nicer and cleaner fit. So just going to make one and there will be 2 options.

Arnt the vrsf intercooler a 3" inlet so these won't work with them anyway? At least not without more modification

This is what I was wondering. The 7" VRSF openings were much larger than the 5" ETS it replaced:

Honestly do not know as I do not follow VRSF at all. If someone can measure it we can confirm, but it certainly looks bigger.

99% sure I have a customer doing an install on our Super RB EVO's who has the AMS, and if so his anyway is 2.5" (standard).
But yes, these were not designed around 3". 2.5" is such a tight squeeze 3" must be real fun to install ha.

I'd double check with that specific customer.
AMS prided their intercooler as being the first with "revolutionary" 3 inch inlet/outlet end tanks. I also have an AMS intercooler and can confirm mine is 3", which is why it came with reduction couplers to mate with the 2.5" stock plumbing, just like VRSF.
Look forward to hearing about an install on a 3" intercooler. Hopefully it's not too much of a bear.

I'd imagine we will have to cut the Hot side CP high up and use an ally coupler to mate it to the vrsf/ams reduction coupler. I'm sure it will work just more clamps and that's exactly what I wanted to do away with

Well agree that clamps in these areas are horrible, BUT being silicone you could use a more permanent pinch style clamp (that does not require servicing) and still have the compliance to get around in there. The only other option is to make a 3rd option for 3", which COULD be easily done if we can justify that there is demand. Maybe we will just knock out 2 birds with 1 stone and make an angled 2.5" and an angled 3".

I am pretty sure VRSF is 3", I did not measure it but it was obviously larger than the ETS opening. I would have signed up for this GB but was waiting to see about fitment.

No worries on the Group Buy. Quite frankly I am very burnt out on Group Buys.
Just an update though, we will have these in the 2.5" "Straight-up/Straight-in available for shipping this week. Once they are in hand we will put that particular offering up for sale.
To come:
2.5" Angled
3" Angled
Thanks,
Rob

Excellent. We're getting dumped on with snow here so the likelihood of me getting to install these (or my RB inlets which look awesome BTW) anytime soon is nil. I barely had time over the weekend to replace a bad front axle + LCA before the storm hit, won't be doing any logs for a long while. Except the kind that go in my wood stove

Would love to see how the 3" will look like once you have them in..
Us AMS FMIC guys struggled with the hot side coupler being too short
And slipping off

It will look the same but a bit bigger in diameter at the merger towards the intercooler.

They should fit the Z4 (RHD or LHD), using the same techniques as discussed throughout this thread for the install.
The biggest hurdle (for all models/drivesides/etc) is differences of interface at the Intercooler connections which comes with the numerous aftermarket offerings that exist. We are going to try to cater to the vast majority of the interfaces in due time, see above discussions on all of that.
I believe the only N54 option that could pose an install problem with the current design is the 5 series, as it has its own distinctive charge pipe design. But time will tell.
Thanks,
Rob
