JB4 on 340i XDrive, no difference maps 0,1,2, etc -
02-14-2019, 08:59 AM
I own a 2016 BMW 340i XDrive and have a JB4 with the Bluetooth option.
As far as I can tell there's no difference with the JB4 on or off. I believe Map0 is disabled.
My gas is from BP and 93 RON.
Attached should be data logs from Map0, Map1 & Map2.
Hopefully you can tell me what I'm doing wrong, or if there are any options available?
Many thanks!

You are correct, settings are all 0, so the JB4 is disabling itself. Correct and relog! Specifically boost safety.

Hi,
You should post WOT runs in third gear from 2000 to 6000 rpm. Do at least 4 of them to allow auto adjust features to settle out.
I like running Map6 at 5 psi flat with gain of 9.
Quite fast for me and better than all the other maps, even map 6 absolute.
I look for maximum acceleration with minimum boost and maximum timing. Lots of WOT’s.

Hi,
I just looked at the maps 6 runs only. The acceleration is very good and much better than mine, and you timing is very nice, advance wise. However AFRs are very high and trims are maxed out.
Terry should chime in, but I would do WOTs in map 1 and 2 first, and avoid Map 6 until more runs are made.
Are you running additives, race gas, or an M series car?

Alex,
My car is a 340i M-Sport, but definitely not an M-Series.
I'm not running any special fuel or additives; just BP 93 RON premium fuel.
The only unusual thing with this vehicle is the BMW original M-Performance exhaust, but it doesn't have MPPK. Not sure that makes any difference other than sound.
I did attach Map3 runs previously.
Is there anything I can do to help the AFR, such as installing an air intake?
Thanks a million!

Go back to map 1 or 2. Fuel trims are maxed out on map3 and 6.
Update your JB4 firmware as well.
