Aftermarket Warranty items that most providers don't cover? -
04-18-2016, 07:46 PM
From those of you who have after market warranties can you share your experiences on what these companies have or have not been willing to replace ??
I'm really curious and I'm sure others are too before going out and spending 3k
Thanks...

Well i paid 3k for 48k/4 years from my credit union some interstate place. Covers most part but what really makes me mad is they do not cover seals that go bad causing leaks unless they are replaced in conjunction to a failing part.

Depends on what level of protection you buy. Now, if you purchase the "exclusionary" coverage that will typically cover a seal or gasket leak.

All warranty companies are different, and have confusing plans so you must read what's covered to know. For me, I originally had a warranty through CCC Continuous Customer Care. I paid $2.6k for 2 years or 24k miles. It was unreal, they shelled out over $10k in repairs, such as three valve cover gasket, oil filter housing gasket, valve cover and vanos related parts. Plus they paid for all diagnostic fees and zero deductible. They covered everything, more than a BMW CPO and RT 66. I did a side by side comparison of coverage's.
Now I have a RT 66, and it cost $2.4k for 2 years and up until the car hits 100k miles. They cover everything the factory would cover, but you have to pay for diagnostic fees. Fortunately I have not had to use them but many forum members love them.

Route 66 is great.... Covers everything except wear items (no warranty will cover these things) - clutch, pads, fluids, taxes. I'd never own an N54 without a warranty and I'm comfortable with wrenching

Well I'm having issues with my warranty company right now. Warranty Solutions. I have a misfire in cyl 3 that is from an index 8 injector. They will only replace the cyl 3 injector even though BMW says you must replace the whole bank. They'll only pay for one.

I called Route 66 and they said the same thing. They'll only replace a failing part. Doesn't matter what the BMW service bulletin says.
