Default Is the N54 intake manifold "dishwasher safe"? - 08-19-2014, 11:05 AM

Thoughts?

Probably, but likely won't take out all the oil and crud....what I would suggest it to put it in a big plastic bin, fill it with Purple Power (or your favorite degreaser) and water (bout half and half or stronger), let soak 24 hrs, then rinse out with a hose or at a car wash bay. This method works very well to get in all the nooks and crannies to get it thoroughly clean.

In theory, if the plastic can withstand under hood temps it will no doubt withstand 140F water, I would use the air dry (no heat) cycle…
Only trouble is I wouldn’t use the same dishwasher to clean the IM and later wash dishes you plan to eat from…

Yup, I would be worried about the dishwasher over the intake manifold. My wife lets me get away with A LOT but that would NEVER fly. I second the plastic bin of purple power and a soak.

I'm not exactly sure what a dishwasher is anyway. I asked the guy at Home Depot to sell me a car parts washer that I could install in my kitchen

Purple power plus big tote from Walmart is solid.
