09-02-2019, 11:53 AM
Has anyone swapped there WMI for CPI? I running PS2 with WMI with E50 in the tank. I was thinking CPI would be smoother...

I would think there is no point. Only benefit is you don't have to buy meth all the time since the CPI taps into the fuel system. Are you running E50 in the car gasoline tank or in the actual meth tank?

CPI better if you have e85 access. Methanol if you don't have e85 access lol.

Payam since he's running X98 wouldn't the meth setup be more beneficial since its a higher content of ethanol spraying inside the engine?

Not if you have the ability to run full e85 and no supplemental pumps and tanks needed
I'm running CPI on my M5 and my Turbo S.

so you would swap the meth set up for CPI. I like the idea of not messing with the getting meth. Would you run straight e85? I'm running e50 at the moment

Yes, exactly. No more filling the methanol tank, or worrying about it etc.
I have CPI now and just fill up either e50 blend or full e85.
Daily I do e50 blend, when I go to race event I to full e85 and change a few values for the CPI to add more fuel. Simple

But CPI is better since it can dynamically add fuel, rather than the BMS WMI kit, which is basically on/off?

No, the WMI controlled with the JB4/FSB does the same.
It just depends what's easiest for you based on fuel accessibility.

My personal experience is PWM is not working well in v14 FW, flow is lower even when you set it to 100, and it jumps all over the place, however if you disable PWM it is stable and higher flow. I would not recommend PWM for v14. Old FW it did work very well however. Also the RPM trigger control is not working for me either. It will come on at 2000 RPM or whenever boot hits teh threshold setting and throttle over about 80% regardless of that the meth trigger settings like RPM are set to.

Please post some logs so we can take a look.
Do you have logs on previous firmware to compare?

ignore the 2015 date these were all done in the last 2 weeks
-on the v11 runs the RPM trigger looks to work and the PWM control is stable
-on the V14 runs there is no RPM control, and the PWM jumps around
I did measure the actual PWM duty cycle with oscilloscope and I did confirm that the PWM signal to the pump is dropping I even saw it drop to 20% at some times in v14 when it should have been 50% for example, and down to 50% when it should have been set to 100%, so what is shown in the log is really happening at the pump
also note that when I disable PWM in v14, the actual pump PWM is totally stable at about 95% over the whole pull, with a 100ms ramp up and ramp down in the PWM signal, when it turns on and off, however personally I would not ramp it off, I would only ramp it on, if your off throttle I would just cut it immediately, but maybe there is reason for the ramp off I am now aware of

Not really practical to evaluate on a thread but if you want to email in a couple examples I can look over it when I have the firmware in front of me to see what might account for the difference.
