Default Spark plug second opinion - 11-03-2017, 08:23 AM

Please review spark plug pic below. Just looking for a second opinion as I am not an expert! I feel like the darker one on the left(1) is running rich. Injector maybe? Also just changed valve cover gasket and new plugs. Thanks for your help.

Agree the one on the left looks like the cylinder is running rich. How many miles on the plugs? Just out of curiosity, are the plugs in order on how you pulled them? if yes is the one on the left from cylinder 1 or 6- Cylinder 1 is closest to the radiator and 6 is the one closest to the firewall on the car?

Smell of gas on the black plug is a good indicator it could be an injector. Good point.

I need to check for the smell of fuel. I plan on pulling the #1 spark plug again soon to see if new one looks like the old one it replaced. The plugs are from left to right 1-6(1 being the black one closest to the rad). I dont have long starts or reduced power...but think I will change bank one injectors as im at 118000 and FBO and they have never been changed to my knowledge. Also O2 sensors just went...connected I wonder. You slap some fresh snails on there and it all goes to ****.... thanks everone for input!

Case closed. Injector on spark plug 1 was dirty and looked horrible. The injectors got cleaner looking as I worked my way through the cylinders. Replace index 08/06 injectors on bank one with index 12. Smoother now and O2 sensor codes haven't returned.

Plan on replacing bank 2 injectors soon. Old injectors and new ones don't play nice together. 12s and 11s should be fine but not anything older than that.
