Default What's the longest your car has been at the dealer? - 04-24-2013, 02:03 PM

Hey guys,

Just bored at work thinking about having to drive that damn loaner home in the next few minutes haha. How long has your car car been at the dealer at one appointment? I am going on 4 and 1/4 weeks now.... It started with the battery power supply recall, then my SA called and said the tech hears rattle on decel so their warrantying the Turbos, then they called and said something broke and they needed to order parts from Germany....... ugh. I am not one to complain about the loaner I get but 4 and 1/2 weeks in an F30 328 (base base base with 20's on it ) gets old quick.

They had my car for just over a week to do the rattle repair. I had a 2012 128i loaner. Didn't even look at the rims.

They broke my clutch slave cylinder (the factory-installed plastic one) and replaced it. But I guess they had one on hand. When the slave broke they called me to ask if they could replace my blue "racing" brake fluid with OEM fluid. Gee what service!

They also said they ordered the turbos from the big D, but it took a couple days to arrive.

4.25 weeks is ridiculous. I think I would have gone nuts.

Look at the bright side. At least the loaner is free ...

6 weeks is a LONG time. Your car will feel like a stranger when you get it back.

Almost sounds like the techs are hooning your car and having to fix stuff they break ... nah, they wouldn't do that, would they?

sure they would haha, they have broken three separate things already, which is why it is taking so long. They also scratched my fender (pretty bad) so that had to be addressed. I would say the dealer name but this is the first time I have had a bad experience, I have been going to them for 5 years (4 separate BMW's) and have never had a problem so I don't want to put it out there that its a horrible place when really its not.

4 months, hit a deer. Body shop ruined the transmission. Long process of battles of insurance companies.

14 days and counting. They did the battery recall and proceeded to drive another car into mine.

And the soulless F30 loaner? I feel your pain.

12 days with no phone call from dealer. 20 odd days before i got car back not fixed. took it to find codes for vanos and boost leak.
BMW couldnt find it even though they did a "vaccume test".$586
I found boost leak under inlet manifold nipple broke off weeks later.

Have not been back to dealer since!
