Default B48 330i runs Map 5, IAT spoof seems fits well - 02-06-2019, 12:20 AM

Without any mods, map 2 is the limit with 93 octane on my car. After installing stone eddy catalytic d-o-w-n-p-i-p-e, I started to use map 3 with 93 octane and car ran smoothly from day 1 without any adaptation is necessary.

Given that 330i B48 is 10.2:1 engine compression ratio, I think maybe I can give map 5 a try to spoof IAT for aggressive timing. Switching to map 5, car was not smooth, some hiccups in low rpm and log is not good with here and there timing drops . Luckily, after giving it couple times of WOT pulls, I feel it is running smoothly without hiccups. I logged couple times and the results are good and consistent. Interesting! S mode seems better than normal mode without any timing drops in 3 and 4 gear.

Attached is the logging in normal mode for 3 and 4 gear. The efficient WOT pulls data is in the final section of the file. Your any comment is very appreciated for the map 5 with my car.

Thank you for the review and I did the firmware upgrade to v11 per your suggestion. My curiosity. Do you optimize firmware v11 on full time IAT spoof for map 5?

By the way, I compared map 3 and map 5 on my car and found that map 5 AFR is within a good range for power, around 12.6:1 in 4th gear. I guess lower IAT spoof makes it better, lower boost (less O2) with same fuel volume. So, map 5 seems fit my car bolt on mods very well, better than map 3. Is my understanding right?
