Default Finally going to the dyno! What do you think? - 10-05-2016, 04:23 PM

Alright guys, almost dyno time for the first time on the BMW! Will be going Saturday morning, just want to get some thoughts on what numbers you think I'll post up!
2009 135i M-Sport
Auto w/paddle shifters
MHD Stage 2+ 93 oct version 6 (think V7 is more power?)
Dual cone intake
BMS chargepipe
VRSF 5 inch stepped FMIC w/ pipe upgrade
VRSF ********* down *****
Berk midpipes
Stock muffler
I did see a similar setup on youtube producing 425hp/465tq to the wheels, I am happy to reach 400hp.

With what fuel? No chance you are going to put down 400 WHP with those mods with only 93 octane. Put in 100 and run the race map and then we will be talking I ran similar mods with 91 oct, without MHD, and had 80% methanol. I put down around 390 WHP adjusted. If you are running 93 Octane I would guess 380 HP tops.

I would be surprised to see over 400hp also.

Report back as to your results. I have pretty much the same setup except I am 335xi so should be more parasitic loss at the wheels than your RWD car.

Well not what I expected, realistically I was expecting closer to 380-385hp.
Hit 369hp and 415tq. Our cars must be light with that power to weight ratio because the car is quick lol. Maybe cleaning the intake valves with the walnut blast well help the motor breathe easier and free up a couple numbers?

I made 426/484 on a mustang dyno with everything besides inlets and outlets with meth. Now I'm running more e85, a better tune and hope to be at 440-450/490-500 on the same dyno. If I could do that without inlets/outlets on a custom tune at 22psi I'd be very happy, the 426 run was also at 18.5psi or so.. Just to give you a perspective.

Get a JB4 on there and we can help you dial in a stronger setup using MHD for a backend flash map.

You could make a lot more with tuning and fuel changes, Agree on adding JB4. Also try out E85 with the right MHD BEF - pretty sure that alone would put you over 400 whp.

I'd say your next hardware mod should be Stage 2 LPFP.

Wasn't there a tread about Terry making 400hp on a test vehicle with minimal bolt ons?

I recall a thread (that was not Terry) about a JB4 + DCI + inline pump N54, with no other mods, making 400 whp ... I don't recall what fuel, but in any case I don't think that's representative of what one can expect with so few mods.

However, comparably to the OP -

FYI, I made 369whp / 497 tq on a Mustang dyno recently, with stock turbos, FBO withOUT inlets or outlets, and E60 mix (mods in sig) ... and with 150* IAT's that killed power and timing. I think even on a Mustang dyno the car would have made much better numbers if there had been adequate cooling.
