Dealers can tell when those things are modified.. But, you may be lucky and find a dealer who doesn't care..

flash back to stock, if they ask about the parts say the stock one broke and the aftermarket was less expensive and functions the exact same. The part is no different then installing moog tie rods or Koni shocks. Do not go in with a BEF. If I was the dealer I would say nonfactory software put extra strain on the injectors and caused them to fail.

I'd agree with this until I found out how dealership warranty work was billed and paid for. From what I understand, if the product is defective (the car) and warranty work deemed necessary then the manufacturer (BMW) supplies the parts to the dealer and the manufacturer pays the dealer for the service tech's time. The time is a predetermined time to perform the work. Injector replacement and coding is 1.5hr.

If I was a service manager, or dealership, I'd replace them no matter what as it is guaranteed income for my service department paid directly by the manufacturer.

But for some reason dealers deny tons of warranty work so I'm missing something.

The issue becomes if warranty claim get denied, then the dealer is out the cost of the parts and labor. Why should they assume the liability on a tuned car? Not enough reward. Believe me, when bmw comes in to audit a dealership, they are out for blood and will find any and all descrepensies that aren't according to the warranty manual. Service managers lose there jobs over it. So again, why would they want to risk it.

Op, if you have a JB4 as well, I'd physically remove it - not just turn it to Map 0.

I do believe you can buy the injectors yourself, pay an indy shop to replace them & then submit a claim to bmw to get your $ back. This is the route Im gona go.

Yeppers, take it all off if your going in. Ive heard they can blacklist the vin so any futre warranty work will be void. I have too much stuff to yank out so Im going to pay for everything upfront & submit a claim.

I can't take the jb4 out. My dwnps will throw a code in the 2 hour drive it will take to get to the dealer :/
Or is the code less of a big deal than the jb4

Yes you can clear the codes with mgs. Do it when you arrive? One look and you can see the aftermarket ******** are installed so give it a shot. 2h to the nearest stealership?

Dealer had me leave it and gave me a 320i.
On first inspection they can't get any codes to warrant the injector replacement so they are going to see if they leak overnight.
We will see what happens in the morning.
Good news. They didn't care about the relocated inlets, dwnps, charge pipe etc. I cleared the codes but they poped again in their hands. They didn't care.

exactly i always do this. its really up to the tech not the SA. i always give the SA a SBUX card and then tell him to let the tech know the envelope in the center console is for him. usually put a $50 in there

GOOD NEWS! Dealer called. They are going to go ahead and replace the injectors because they noticed it misfire on coldstart.

My SA did not care about mods either. I had my injectors, HPFP, and even plugs replaced at no cost.
He said to come back in a couple months to my turbos looked at....

dont let anyone tell you the N54 direct injection HAS to be loud. these 12s are barely audible. at least for now
