It's nice to see another speed freak join the fray after only 1 post. Some of us have been praising Terry and his top notch crew for years -- I have, since 2008. You weren't around for the years of evolution of the JBs ( JB+, JB3, JB4, G5, ISO ... and a lot in between). You're jumping in at the best time ever. While we struggled at times to catch up with the improvements, you have the luxury of having it all with no sacrifice. Enjoy!

Terry's unmatched dedication to the N54

I do feel that we should probably break out a page for those with 1M's/335is as its all close but all a little different what works what doesn't etc and its hard to decipher what is applicable and normal for our tuning+jb4.

I have been using map 5 with E85/93 mix which can vary with each fill-up. Typically would run map 2 on the way to the station to clear the settings then go to 5 after the tank was filled. Hit 3 runs at WOT in 3rd to acclimate it.

The E85 station closed & I am back to the 93/100 mix that I used to use. I have been using a fill at 1/8-1/4 tank with 8-9 gals of 100 ($70) the balance with 93 & using Map 6.

I found the boost is very close at peak about 17.5 or so with no timing pulls & trims within the OK range. I asked Terry about it & he said given the choice he would prefer Map 6 because its consistent.

I have been experimenting with the stock map 6 + 1.5psi or 2psi across all entries. All else on default except for a "5" for the DCT downshift setting. Additionally I have a small wood block to prevent hitting the auto downshift at WOT.

Over all the target & boost lines are just about a perfect overlay & the car is very smooth to drive. I still should see how much I can reduce the 100 by & still maintain the boost but have not gotten around to it.

My understanding which could be wrong is that the 335is factory timing curve is more tolerant of boost than the 335i & the 1M is another step more tolerant than the 335is. On a Dynojet my pure stock runs with 94 octane were 319/320whp. IIRC the 1M generates more power stock

To see how it works for you I would go up 1psi at a time & send the logs to Terry if you have any doubts about how they look. Thing with E85 is to watch the trims.

Would like to get chance to drive a 1M some time as my 135is is a lot of fun & much more agile then the 335. Only issue I have with the 135is itís a N55.

I found 2 stations with E85 on my way to/from work. I park between the two pumps so I can mix with 91 easily. I have been running MAP6 with the fixed boost settings I posted before. The car seems to like it, even the heat. I max out at 16.5 psi, tough.

I don't mind. I always run SPORT-SPORT so everything is very consistent, even with the A/C on. D-AUTO drives like crap. I could get out and change my tire between shifts. At night, 1st and 2nd still hit pretty hard, but usually you can't even feel 3rd-7th. Just pure acceleration.

Hey everyone quick question, on my laptop f1 and f2 (start logging and stop and display) don't seem to work. The reason being is while f1 starts it when I hit f2 that also happens to be my display brightness control and that seems to take precedent. Anyone else have this issue?? Any solution?

Also, and maybe this is not needed as it logs for 8.5 minutes, but just thinking it would be interesting(and maybe safer) to have a steering wheel control start and stop logging.

Do you happen to be running a virtual machine on a Mac?

If so you'll need to hold down the *fn* (function) key while pressing the F1 and F2 keys.

Actually this may be the case even for some regular Windows laptops. Some manufacturers just make these things hard.

Cool stuff no longer installed.

Yes windows HP laptop will try the Fn key but all the more reason then (well at least fro em) that integrating into steering wheel control would be awesome

Yesterday it was 117 degrees here in Antioch, Ca. (52 miles east of San Francisco)

Car still runs well.. Except the heat tends to soften my vacuum/boost hose and gets blasted off the blow-off valve if I go WOT.

You need to find a higher temperature rated tube. That sounds annoying.
