Default Does the BMS Race Intercooler fit a E60 535i? - 06-20-2020, 12:03 PM

I've googled and searched the many various forums everywhere and can't find any information on whether or not the Burger Motor Sports Race Intercooler fits the 535i?

I went onto burgertuning.com and selected "5 Series E60/E61" from the BMW drop down menu and the intercooler is in that group of parts for the E60 on page 3. However when you click on the actual intercooler link it shows under the E Chassis Intercooler Applications that it only fits the 1 Series, and 3 Series. It doesn't mention 535i, or E60 anywhere. Does it actually fit?

As a second question, I'd love to know if anyone has compared the BMS Race intercooler to VRSF 7.5 Competition Intercooler for E60 535i?

And lastly, is the Race Intercooler from BMS going to be to big for full bolt on with meth on stock turbos with 18PSI or so?

Thanks in advance for any insight!

Why not message BMS and ask directly?

I don't believe any intercooler for the E60, 535i is direct fit bolt on. You likely have an automatic and that makes the trans cooler the issue for larger intercoolers. I went with the Wagner stepped, 200001060. It was made for the 535d and is mostly direct fit, once you move the trans cooler and housing (yea, there's the rub). A small bit of plastic to cut then it fits in the factory bolt holes. ALL plumbing is factory fit and lines up perfectly using OEM connectors...no weird bends, clamps or silicone extensions. It can be installed from underneath and bumper can stay on though it would have been easier without it.

You may already have one but I recommend the ER charge pipe. The fit is great and it retains the factory support bracket which I thought was a big plus for stability and reliability. I used the Forge diverter valves plumbed back to the intake.

Good luck in the search and install.

$400 E60 intercooler - N54Tech.com - International Turbo Racing Discussion

I've had his on my car for about 2 years. I'm almost positive it's the manufacturer for Wagner just selling directly so everything DMCKMC said is %100 correct. My car is a manual so I lucked out and minus some very minor trimming the intercooler fit perfect.

I also have and recommend the ER E60 chargepipe and Forge valves recirculated.

EDIT: Looks like it's only $350 now!
