Default Avg Ign - 06-28-2017, 10:29 PM

A question on how Avg Ign is calculated:
Russell's excellent sticky post says "timing below the maximum possible curve". How is the "maximum" defined, is it the respective values in the timing table, and the reduction from that due to knock sensors? With E50 and E85 bef, my avg ign is smack at 0 across all rpm/load. Does this mean I have headroom for timing adjustments?

Thanks

The BEF files should be good to go for EU cars now. Download and try again.

Working on adding transmission code delete to menu 1/3, moving lambda and fuel quality adaptions to 1/4, and leaving only battery adaption on 1/7.

Are there any specific adaption resets you guys perform often that we don't have on the JB4 yet?

The listing in the first post is accurate, as far as I know. What is incorrect on it?

One last question can I switch between my laptop (what I've been using) to log and update and the android device app for using the JB4 or is it locked to one type i.e. windows program or app

It's not locked. You can use whatever compatible device you want and change it on the fly.

The chart posted on the 3rd post doesn't reflect the new changes like the battery adaptation.

The adaption reset on 1/7 is accurate. The note is missing battery adaption reset. Since we are moving that specific one next version, no reason to update that right now anyway.

Terry. Just wanted to let you know that the waste gate algorithm is the truth! Thank god no more rattle, and it seems like it gives the car a deeper exhaust note. I would think that algorithm would render menu 10 useless now.

Default FUD bit 7 alternative wastegate rattle algorithm - 07-09-2017, 01:23 PM

I tried on my 10 yo stockers and also found that it reduced rattle a lot, but maybe also a bit more delay when hitting the pedal. Anyways, getting new turbos now.

What's the difference in the "alternative" WG mode? Any directions in which situation to use? Sorry, but the FAQs don't tell.

have always run the car on Map 5 but am about to give Map 7 a go after I get the car back from a full service and check

"Using map 7 requires 50-60% E85, the back end flash, AND the fuel pump upgrade"

I meet the above requirements but just wanted to check the MAP 7 still has the same safeties and fail safes as other maps like map 5?
