I will be putting in my order the end of Dec and wont take delivery until the end of Feb 2010. Just as long as you put in the order by the end of the year you will get the deal.

The sales guy said it didn't work that way, he's normally on the ball. You may want to double check.

I test drove the X5D in GM and it is impressive as is. It matches the 5.4 V8 in pick up. I love the upgraded navi and rear backup cam in the 2010. I could cruise at 120 with ease on the autobahn.

I wish i had a 335i

But i got the next best thing!!!!

The backup camera is a must if my wife will be driving it. Decided to go with the X5D, just need to find one now. Would love to see that 5200# tank run 13s with a JB.

I just got mine, the 2010 iDrive back up camera actually has 3 cameras you have about a 300 degree top down view all around the car, it is awesome.

The diesel is pretty bad ass to.

T, if this isn't ok with you please delete this post. Here is a link to a company that sells propane kits for the big domestic diesels. Looks like they are also getting into VW and Merc Diesels. BMW product may be on their radar.

I know that Banks (well respected in the diesel world) is getting into VW tdi engines.

I have been holding off on getting this x5d. Now that we may have a tune on the way i may have to jump in. They are very popular with Americans here in Germany. And now that they introduced it for our market (the US), makes it a great buy for most. The fuel prices here, the great gas milage in an SUV and it can be brought back whith if one so desire. Terry is this one in the works or are you just looking at the market for it first?

I wish i had a 335i

Nothing in the works yet! If we find a car, then we'll get working on a tune for it.

I drive a standard 335d quite often, the torque is amazing. But its so exciting or fast as a 335i. However the milage amazes me, it has an average of 14 km to a litre. Personally I would take the 35i engine for a 3 series but would certainly take the 35d for a suv.

Looks like they are quite popular! Still having a hard time sourcing one. Will get back on it after SEMA.

For those that bought them with the $4500 eco credit, were you also able to get them down off MSRP?

Absolutely!

I ordered when we thought the eco credit was running out and ended up at invoice + $2000, and then the eco credit.

MSRP sat at about 68,500, Sale price 60,500 (give or take a couple bucks on both numbers).

We have one.

I'd be interested in a JB for both the 535 and 335.

I took a test drive on the 335D, not a bad little car. Since platform is the same as the X5D I'm going to go that route for our development car. At least will get some benefit from it that way. Plus its only 1400# heavier than the 335D...

There FOR SURE would be a market for them in the U.S. My dad has been a mercedes diesel fan and gets a new car every year. He just got the new Mercedes Benz E320 Bluetec. So far he has tint and AMG rims and he hates the power compared to his old tuned CDI. The old CDI's saw so much more gains and there is nothing out there but Klemann's KD box for the Bluetec. You would have his business in a year and possibly mine if I knew you were doing a JB for diesels.
What are the stock numbers? Low 200hp with 430 something torque?
If one could get the horse in the mid 300s at the crank and over 500 pounds of torque then I would be down! The mileage is just so damn good!
SUBSCRIBED!
Also what kind of mods could be made for the diesels? Any of the mods from the 335i universal for the 335d?

Stock numbers are 265hp and 435 torque. I think tuned with just a jb we could get to 340hp and 550 torque.

If this turns out to be an easy thing for T to do I would probably get a 335d as my next car.
