Default JB+ Dyno test for 320i with B48 engine - 09-04-2017, 09:51 AM

Hi Terry

Has this test been already done?

I'm interested in a JB+ (short budget) but would like to see the benefits of it in a B48 320i

If no test, comments also welcome!!!

I don't have any 320i B48 test data in front of me but I can't imagine it's much different than the MINI B48 results. Search the forums I'm sure there is plenty floating around.

I couldn't find info on the JB+ on a B48 engine or in a mini engine.

So I just did what every reasonable petrolhead would do...
I ordered the JB+ for my 320i B48

I'll test it with my butt dyno

Terry, what would be the gains power and torque wise if I decide in the near future to exchange the JB+ for a JB4 in a 320i? The webpage just says 40whp vs 35whp in the JB+ but I'd think there's more to that. Please advise. Thanks.

So far so good. I'll take the car for a real Dyno run in a couple of weeks, I'll post the pull results here.

Seems that there is no Dyno data for JB+ in a B48 184HP engine.

The JB4 gives a lot more tuning control and flexibility but its hard to predict the power gains as that varies largely on the fuel, mods, and conditions. If you want to push things the JB4 is the way to do it though.

I think 200HP is pretty stable.
Have some friends who drive 320i and now runs 0-60 in around 6.3 sec.
And the high performance version of B48 has like 256hp STOCK.
So in my opinion it's ok to push it to 200hp.

I did a dyno on JB4 on a 320i b48 almost two years back but previous map versions and it dynoed around 240 hp. Car with newer map is much stronger and I expect it to be around 250-260 Hp now.

Not sure if the configuration of B48 has any difference between the countries.
As i know the piston of B48 on 320 and 325 is different. Will it works on both?

What settings do you use JB4?
Witch map and user adjustment settings?

Alternate between map3 and map 5. Map3 is better on motorways but for city traffic map 5 has more torque due to more aggressive timing.
