Default JB+ on B48x 330e PHEV - 03-06-2017, 09:13 AM

Is the 330e supported with the JB+ plug and play?

Need extra boost for hypermiling action.

We have not tested it yet, but expect it to work normally.

Half way is a good starting point. Around 2psi over stock.

So, I installed the JB+ on my 330e a while back and it worked just fine. Toke about 1 minute to install, and in general I'm happy with it. The boost seemed to peak a bit high, so I've actually dialed it back a notch or two from the original setting. I've got the BMS intake + custom exhaust, not sure if that can be the cause of the somewhat higher boost.

What I'm seeing as compared to the piggyback system I've used earlier, is that the effect curve flattening out earlier.

The blue curve below is JB+, while the red is an european piggyback.

This is made with a datalogger via obd2 + virtual dyno, so the actual numbers probably isn't perfectly accurate, but serves as a comparison. Both the runs below actually peaks at about 14psi, and starts backing off at around 4500-5000rpm, all the way down to around 9psi at 6000+ rpm. So the turbo pressure is relatively similar, but the piggyback system (four connectors similar to jb4) gives more power. I assume one would see a similar difference between jb+ and jb4.

The hp reported in the graph is calculated whp, but is quite close to the reported rating for the for the piggyback system, so is probably reasonably accurate.
