Got the 30FF on the Autobahn on my way to my dealer.
Thought my turbo has bricked.
Thanks for the update Terry!

Just another map 0 tweak between the two. If you never use map 0 then 27.8 is fine.

First you need different turbos and perhaps then a higher range sensor.

Default Which Firmware to is right for me? - 11-24-2013, 01:55 AM

Hi all, I have an older JB4 which I have inherited with my 335. I just nmanaged to get the usb cable installed and the firmware dates back to 2011. Im wondering if i can just go ahead and upload the latest g5 iso firmware or do i need to get a specific firmware for my jb4. My jb4 only has one of the 2 diodes mentioned in the clipping process.

Is there anything to gain with 27.9 if not on meth? I'm running 27.3, my car seemed to like that better then 4/5.

Sounds like it is a G4 JB4. Don't try to upload ISO firmware. If you had a pic of the board I'm sure Terry or someone could ID it.

27.9/BMS flash custom Map 6 50/50 93/100. To cold, 32 degrees in the sunny south, for WOT runs on summer tires but in DD car feels very good in DD mode, stick in sport mode button not pushed. No more bucking or hiccups at the 2900/3000 part throttle shift points.

As a matter of interest what is the point of diminishing return on stock turbo PSI?

EDIT:23 degrees this morning.

hello, i installed the 27.9 firmware update and i like it a lot. however, i noticed after installing it that when i unlock the car after the ECU is asleep it makes a weird noise for a second that sounds like its coming from under the car. I'm not talking about the car being primed. this is something else i have never heard.

Me too. It used t happen on one of the older firmware versions. When the car awakes, the wastegates move into positon or something like that. that is what the noise is. a click noise right?

That's too cold and it is not winter yet.

Since the problem with the OEM turbos is exhaust flow I suspect the limit varies with RPM.
Probably 18 psi low to midrange rpm and 15 psi up top.
