Default Dealership service and JB4 - 07-07-2019, 12:16 PM

I have a TOCO warranty and will be taking the car in for a coolant leak. I have a JB4 installed and if I select 0 and 0 to bypass the JB4, I get reduced power mode notice. I don't need anything drawing the mechanics attention. I thinking I should remove the JB4 for this visit.

I will be also be bringing up the right rear squatting lower than the left rear with the stock M-sport.

I had the right front clunk noise that was supposedly fixed return.

Any related experiences with BMW of South Austin working on these issues?

Dealers have been really bitchy lately with the JB4. Its much worse with the OBD2 connector than it used to be with the positaps. They don’t like seeing things plugged in there. The positaps could be hidden, the interior plug can’t be.

I'd remove any mods before going in for service to simplify things for the technician.

I ended up removing the JB4. Now I just sit and wait for the fateful call.

For whatever itís worth to someone still on the fence and obsessing over this exact scenario, I thought Iíd share my experience.

First, yes, buy the jb4. Itís ridiculously easy to install and thereís plenty of support and guides. Secondly, Iíve used my jb4 religiously however even with the car pushing 110k on the odometer (map 5 enabled for 90k of those miles), I STILL remove the device before servicing. This kind of activity (install/remove/repeat) can wear a bit on the harness, so be easy and have no worries.
