Default Runaway Revs? - 02-22-2020, 12:44 PM

Ok so good news. I replaced the PCV Valve and reset the ECU and now I do not get the neck snap at 3000 or the surging above 3K (needs more drive time to verify)

So wondering sometimes I turn around an give it some gas and the revs just run away. It does not feel like a tire is spinning as even if I shift gears it continues. I am wondering if it is the clutch slipping or what is causing it.

The new clutch and flywheel go in soon so I guess I will see. I moved the gear and speed next to the RPM so try and see.

But what do you think?

Based on that description, it sounds like slipping clutch. It spins, and then the clutch grabs when it can / with what’s left

Well weather is supposed to be nice tomorrow maybe I will get motivated and swap it.

I am having trouble searching for this answer. If I want to add an ethanol sensor and connect it to the JB4 do I need the whole bluetooth and app? Is there just a straight wire harness. I can do math and figure the proportion to add but I would like the JB4 to know exact.

I got a map 4 when I did a 1/4 pull in 4th gear I think. I may have hit redline. I was not logging at the time.

So no way to tap right into the JB4 with a wire harness. Bluetooth is needed.

Correct

JB4 has the virtual sensor feature, works well, but analyzer / Bluetooth is the most accurate
