Default Alpina B3 Trans Flash...Done! - 02-20-2013, 08:28 PM

ALPINA SWITCH-TRONIC Sport Automatic Transmission (6-speed)

It is snowing here in Colorado and I can't do much if any testing. I do like the gear indicator displaying the current gear you are in all the time, D1, D2 or S1 S2 etc. When in S mode, I noticed that it takes quite a bit of wheel spin to activate traction control. There seemed to be much less intervention, even when spinning and hopping sideways.

The entire programming process took less than 20 minutes. It took about 10 minutes to program. I then locked the doors and let it sit for about 10 minutes as instructed. The Paddles shifters still function normally as well.

I will give more feedback after the weather clears.

I'm not sure how this could effect DTC intervention as you didn't flash the DSC or DME..

I wanna know what Terry thinks of this.. Terry do you think this has solved the timing flatlining problem? Do you think your trans will survive a bit longer at higher power levels after flashing this?

Not sure either. I am not sure how any of these systems communicate with each other. This was just one of the things I immediately noticed.

Mines a 01/08 135i, paddles work fine. Havent really driven it yet, but will get some time tomorrow afternoon to test. If anyone needs assistance, lemme know.

Flash is working great. Faster shifts for sure. It has not changed anything post shift timing related from what I've seen.

It's a completely separate piece of software to the JB4 FW or BMS Flash.

Search on the BimmerBoost site and there's some instructions there on getting the file and doing the install.

Good luck!

Cool stuff no longer installed.

I'm waiting to see why 09 and up builds lose paddle shifter function. Then I'm doing this.

I got the B3 Biturbo, gearchanges are MUUUUUUUUUUCH quicker than my 335i..
It feels like it bangs the gears in :D Also, it's hardware is changed when compared to the ZF tranny mounted on the 335i

I won't even confirm or deny I'm personally running this stolen software. Anything I post about it was told to me by a friend.

On topic...so I've reset adaptions before on the transmission and noticed a difference initially (smoother/faster) but as things progressed those gains were lost. I can see it very clearly in logs after I do a reset (timing is a downward spike as opposed to a flat spot).

So I'm curious as to the adaptions a bit down the road.

2nd, does this have a negative affect on durability? Do you feel it is any more "abrupt" or just faster?
