What'd you pay?

Arent there still issues cracking the DME on these?

My car has that kind of power now and for more than half the price....I'm hardpressed spending $75k + on one of these....

Engine needs more volume. Its like a marginally higher revving 335i with better everything else. Wonder how much headroom they left on the turbos. The CR is high.

Seems like it might just be a souped up 335is. But I only know one way to find out...

Can't wait until you get a chance to dig into it. I really hope it is more than a 335is just pushed harder from the factory!

Its a whole new engine with a dry sump and closed deck- a real M engine. That's what you're paying for.

May not sound better but when turbo upgrades start showing up, **** is going to get real.

Well at least its the right color. I'm curious to see if the DCT will hold up any better then the one in the IS. Ive had to drop down to the race flash from the tweaked e85 flash you made up for me due trans to slipping. I need to get it on the dyno with the e85 flash and see what the numbers are because I'm surprised its slipping that bad with only the stock turbos.

Is not a new engine is a N55 but twin turbo and modified.

"The E90 M3 was fitted with the last naturally aspirated BMW M engine - and it was also the last BMW M to use a dedicated M engine developed from scratch. No more. Despite the attention that BMW's performance division dedicated to the new S55 engine, it is still derived from the ubiquitous N55 3.0-liter straight-six."

A message to Terry from BMW

"We don't know what the tuners will do to this car," says an engineer. Getting up there will require extensive engine work: In series production trim, the M3/M4 would theoretically top out at around 185 mph."

Still my concern moving forward. How many miles you at?

This is my fear. I really hope it is not just an N55 pushed to it limit with very little room for more power from the likes of BMS.

Yes I expect the trans, etc, will be an issue. Expecting the new M3 platform to make more power than say the N54 platform w/ RB turbos might not be very realistic. But you never know.

That's why you wait for the new M3 platform to have RB turbos of its' own
