Hi all, I have been watching the Ineos Grenadier take shape (think an independently-financed and built spiritual successor of the Defender 110) and for gas engine trucks, they will have the ubiquitous B58. More info here -

The tough SUV will be going on sale in select markets from May 18 with straight-six 3.0-liter BMW engines. The oil-burner makes 245 hp & 406 lb-ft (550 Nm) while the gas unit has 281 hp & 332 lb-ft (450 Nm). Both are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission from ZF sending power to all four wheels. Go for the B58 engine and the Grenadier will do 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 8.6 seconds. The B57-powered variant takes 9.9 seconds. Regardless of the powertrain, the ladder-frame SUV is electronically capped at 100 mph (161 km/h).

I think they’re a really promising platform for anyone looking for a go-anywhere SUV that’s larger than a Jeep Wrangler… F&R solid axles made by an Italian company, Carraro Group, that primarily makes axles for agricultural & construction equipment (and yes all ‘agricultural’ jokes likely deserved haha although early reviews indicate they ride quite nicely for what they are.)
The Grenadier is being built in a very modern roboticized former Mercedes plant on the France-Germany border, ZF 8 speed auto, some of the chassis design & engineering work performed by Magna Steyr, 7700? lb tow rating, etc etc. So long as build quality & QA come through, I think it will be a blast.
While I get that the factory tune these trucks will get delivered with will both be conservative and tuned for low-end torque delivery, I’m very curious what might be possible by way of a JB4 on top.
Has anyone looked into JB4 support for these trucks? (I searched first but didn’t find anything.) I have a reservation-to-preorder one of these trucks, and am really keen to wake it up once it’s in my possession.
