Hi everyone!

I "Blew" my motor in January of this year.

After doing some research on other issues causing the symptoms my car is having, I'd like to be 100% certain that it is case.

My car has a loud ticking noise. Louder than normal. Looked up a video of a spun rod bearing and it does not sound like that at all. Black smoke coming from exhaust. Rough Idle.

If no metal shards or shavings are in the oil/oil filter, would that mean that my issue is coming from somewhere else?

Possibly injectors? Lifters?

Just looking for some advice on steps to take in order to really determine if my motor needs to be replaced, Thanks!

Black would be lots of unburnt fuel.
Could be stuck injector dumping fuel in. Unplug them one by one and see if you can get clean exhaust once.

But first I'd do a compression test. If you get one that's low (not zero or teens) could the wall washed and the rings can't grab (rings need oil to seal, fuel washes away the oil).
