Default JB4 Guages: no boost then blue boost - 03-26-2020, 08:59 AM

Some weirdness this morning as I was about to go on my daily Kung Flu supply run. I had zero boost registering on boost 1. Boost 2 showed numbers but the gauge was blue instead of green. I shut the car off then back on a couple times and boost 1 started registering again. But they're both showing blue...what does that mean? I posted a short run of map 0 then another longer run of map 1. Can you please take a look and let me know if anything looks amiss as well as explain the blue boost gauge (as it is normally green)?

I always only use 93, for all my cars. How could I fix that or any ideas of what could be causing that issue given that I am on 93?

Hello guys.

Just recently bought my Q50 Luxe (2019), make a service on 10k KM, and installed JB4.
Could you please assist me on the log, since I am not really familiar with it.
I make a run on a "super" fuel (98 octane in my country) using map5, from ~30km\h to 262km\h (speed limiter, yes). As per my own ass feeling the car, everything was fine, but I want somebody more experienced to double-check all the parameters.

Hi Terry. I'm now running V8 firmware on my Q60 Redsport. Do I need to now switch FUD 6 to on?

Thanks Ando for assisting via DM!
In the event anyone experiences the same...gauge color isn't an indicator of an issue and logs look good (unsure why gauge color for the two boosts changed tho did have a smartphone update earlier this week which may have been the culprit).
I reseated all the JB4 connections anyway and while doing so didn't notice any bent pins, etc. It appears to be reading properly now so will keep an eye out. BTW the car never felt like it was running bad/different...just the boost 1 gauge was not reading for some reason tho is now.

Are you commanding more fuel down low or leaning it out? I'm running WMI and prefer the richer mixture after seeing some full times. If you're pulling fuel with the fuel wires I don't plan to add them, but if you're adding fuel down low I may put them back on. Just ALOT of wires to snake around the engine bay between WMI, fuel wires, now EWG.

Hi Terry,

Have another log (combined this time) that I would appreciate some feedback on. I believe I was experiencing some of the hesitation and issues i described during these logs. Curious if there's any other issues you might see in addition to the low timing advance.

Just got the EWG wires....holy crap so much easier than the fuel wires.

Something's wrong. Throttle is not responsive. Started the first pull and saw a few psi then it dropped to 0 psi and throttle is terrible now. Feels like a setting or something is missed.

I have to get some time to get a good log in and mess with the dragy too but some single gear pulls the difference was noticable and my bias is set to 55. The guys in the stinger thread are testing 70+. May try and get another log tomorrow to see.

You have to download and install the beta V8 firmware to make use of the EWG wires, but yes it does work.

Theres a thread in the Kia Stinger section with EWG in the title that has all the settings you have to do for a Q50 since we share the feature/cables.

Hello, new 2020 Q50RS owner here. Been reading these posts for a while now, and I think I know the answer, but I wanted to confirm with the pros before I proceed. I'm happy with the stock system, but if there is no real harm I would love to have just a little extra oomph compared to stock. I am not mechanically inclined and would prefer the easiest plug and play solution. My questions are:

Can I safely use the JB1 (+3) only having access to CA 91 octane? I don't want to add octane boosters or worry about fuel mixes, I'm all about the easiest solution (for now at least). I also like the JB1 since I'm in a lease and can easily remove in less than a minute when I go back for service.

Secondly, how long should I wait (break-in) before I attempt to use this? I would imagine at least 2k miles or so?

Thanks for your help! New Q50 owner but loving it so far (a week).

Off unless Terry answers my question regarding adding fuel over stock on the low end. If it's still just leaning it out I don't plan to turn them back on, and I run WMI too obviously.
