Default F10 M5 6spd vs Hellcat what do I need? - 07-05-2018, 08:22 PM

So my friend bought a 2018 Hellcat and wants to race. My JB4/BCM is on its way. Iím going to most likely do the Intake charge pipe combo, BMS meth, and VSRF **. Will run either race fuel or little (2-3 gallons) E85. Car is a 6spd. Will be putting new rear tires on before the race (going to Lebanon Valley most likely). Other than driver error I should be able to beat him if heís stock down to the tires right? Anything else I should do? Thanks!

Practice, practice, practice your launch. That will be the win or lose factor.

It'll be a good race but tough one for you if it's from a dig. Itll be spin city for you lol. With your mods though you should be at 700+whp with methanol and 28 psi or so.

DCT clutches usually start to slip at that power level. I don't think there is enough info on the 6MT clutch to know if it will hold up or not.

I was wondering that about the 6spd clutches. Couldnít really find much since there are so few of them. Any recommendations on rear tires I can use for street and strip? Iíve been practicing launching and it seems around 2500-3000 RPM is the best to keep wheelspin at a minimum and still get out of the hole. Thanks!

If you have to stay radial, MT or Hoosier. Others are better than oem but not as good as a dedicated drag radial.

I had a 6speed manual m5, spin city. I had a DCT m5, spin city. Get stickier shoes than he is wearing, end of story

Hellcats make low 600’s, and weigh around 100lbs more than the f10. On stage 2, with ethanol you should be at the same power level, and with meth should have like 60-80whp advantage. It’s going to come down to tires, and launch, just do a quick tire warmer right before you run. Realistically though at this power level, you guys should race off a roll not dig.

I donít know if any places in New England that do races from a roll. I would prefer that because then there is less chance of braking something or being out of control.

get DR's mounted and practice with them a lot before racing the Hellcat.

Try both 1st and 2nd gear launching. Use Dragy to measure the actual times to see which method gets you out of the hole faster.
