Default able to use ebay OBD cable for backend flash?? - 07-02-2015, 02:06 PM

I wanted to put the backend flash on my car (08 335xi), from what I've read I see the BT cable is $179 but there are cheaper cables on ebay I was wondering if one of these cheaper obd cables would be suitable to perform a backend flash or if there is any alternative to the "BT" brand $179 cable. I put down 417hp and 482 ft-lbs on the dyno the other day fbo minus stock exhaust no meth, trying to gain a few more with a backend flash
Thanks!!

Needs to be a BT cable. If you're lucky you can find a used one for $100. Or, go MHD

Check out the for-sale sections of any e90 forum or eBay. I picked up a cable with one of the 3 VINs used for $150 IIRC, so I still have 2 left for my 2 e90s.

You don't need the VIN cabapility for the BB flash, so even a single-VIN cable with the VINs used up will work fine!

2008 e90 335i 6spd - modified!
2011 e90 335xi 6spd - lightly modified
2011 e70 x5 diesel - stock (for now...)

Bavarian Technic will remove VINs as well if you call them but as mentioned, the VIN lock doesnt happen when using BB software.

If you already have the eBay cable and a otg capable android phone, I would recommend the mhd app, which is easier and cheaper.
