Question 06-11-2020, 02:29 PM

So I had running issues with the new firmware just with normal driving, trims would go up and down and car would like surge, I switched firmware back to what I had prior and switch the settings to how they where before, just would like a double check on that log to make sure everything is good. Iím most likely gonna stick with this.

I do see some timing drop across a few cylinders, but not across them all. Most are holding high and strong. Thus, I don't think you're running into any knock issue. I do see more throttle activity than I'd like, which leads me to look at DME BT vs ECU PSI. There you see that, during the drops, you're either matched or that ECU PSI is going higher which will result in some throttle control input to reduce the boost. Often, that results in a slight timing reduction until the DME knows that all is well and in control again.

Further, if you review your Boost vs. Target, you'll see you're getting close to being dead on target. Generally, you can only accomplish this when you have a BEF. I've found that tuning slightly under target by 1-1.5psi is best.

My recommendations would be to raise your PID from 18 to 23 and see if you get better control in that area and get boost further under target. If that occurs, you should see the throttle control become less active and timing level out. I also see your boost tapering down past 6k and recommend raising your Bias from 6k+ to 60. That should help level that out.

Again, I see no real issues. Just a little bit of fine tuning. It's good that you're keeping an eye on things. As the DME learns and adapts to various conditions, things can drift. Once you get things dialed in to the highest level, your FF should keep you there. Your at 98%... the last few % of adjustment are always the toughest and most tedious. Best wishes... glad you're still going strong.

Looks good... leave it there for now and just check it periodically. You can compare between the P58 log to see any variations. Everything looks great from what I see.

Question 10-07-2020, 06:53 AM

Car has been amazing, Iím posting current logs of the car. I noticed ign was low, is that to be something to worry about? I also didnít like the new firmware car would stumble a lot prefect on current. Just checking in hope everyone is doing well!!

All looks good to me. Glad to hear you're still running well. So am I, but I am still on V17. Haven't tried V18 yet. I know that when I do upgrade, it helps to reflash/reset the ECU. It seems to allow the DME to relearn the new feedback from the JB4 better. That may just be my placebo. HA!
