Default New Build 2010 335i need help - 04-25-2019, 09:42 PM

I installed the Burger intake and the JB4. I also replaced all plugs and coils new stock. I'm running map 1 and when I start laying hard on the throttle she sends me to map 4. Flashers blink twice when it does this. Any ideas?

I'm new to this so please tell me how I go about creating a log. Also I found a pump kit on ebay and the seller says it will fit my car and I just realized that seller is you lol! I was just on your page and noticed 3 different options for my car. If my ultimate goal is 500Whp which would you recommend? Thanks!

Ha! Too funny.

Proper logs- you need a means to log / record data- most either use the JB4 cable or more popular- the Bluetooth adapter & JB4 mobile app

Either our stage 2 bucketless or 650 pump would suit your needs

That will be my next order then. I do have another problem that came up but it was kind of expected. Charge pipe blew. I ordered the aluminum with BOV flange and BOV from BMS. Then I'll be ready to log. Thanks again!

Ok I decided I don't want to wait I'm ready to order but what about the DW400 stage2 kit? I'm just worried that if I get the 650 that requires me to use my stock pump also and if the stock pump turns out to be bad Ill be spending much more then the DW400 would cost me. It said something about a module that can over heat and fail with the DW400 so it seems both can possibly have a negative. I want to be a little reliable because Ill be on the street so what do you think?

I ran the bucketless dw400 for months- no issue.

I also ran the normal walbro bucketless for over a year no issue.

650 kit is really nice / solid choice as well, cant go wrong with either so dont over think it

Depending on your power goals- I personally would save the $ & just get our standard bucketless configuration, but if your heart is set on the dw go for it

I just placed my order for standard bucketless. Do I need the hobbs switch?
If so why?

I was told when I install my new charge pipe and BOV I'll have to put a 1/4 fitting on my intake for BOV. Is this true? If so what do you think about
VS MAP sensor to BOV Line Adapter

Also I removed the old charge pipe and there was some oil residue around the walls.

OK I installed the fuel pump. There was two other hoses not mentioned on the videos that were clipped to the bucket assembly, I just threw the new assembly on top. Is that OK?
Second is I thought I was supposed to remove the fitting that connects to the fuel pump and I removed the little metal hose clamp. The fitting wouldn't come off without it and I applied a good amount of force. So now there's no clamp on it. Do you think that will be OK?

Id think youd be okay. Ideally youd want that fitting on/ secured, but realistically you should be fine.

Yeah like I said I pulled on the hose pretty hard and it wouldn't come off. It was even hard to rotate. Ok! Charge pipe just got here. I'm going to install that and then try to figure out how to log. Any helpful videos on that lol

Just remember to swap the o ring on your stock chargepipe over to the new one- most dont come with one.

Log-

3rd gear, 2k or so to start, WOT to redline, shift & traction control off.

Took it out with the new pump and charge pipe still getting the two flashes and sending me back to 4. Later tonight when traffic dies down I'll try to log. I guess I just plug the link cable to my JB4 and I'll get some kind of instructions on screen?

Never mind I found it lol

I'm only turning ignition on. I'm not going into JB4 through steering wheel when trying to connect. Should I?

Still no luck connecting. I had the car on map 5. It seemed to run ok but when I went WOT it kicked me out again. Any other ideas for connecting? Also next morning gave me a check engine light code 29cf (cylinder 3 misfire) changed the plug which was black from running rich and she's ok now.

What error are you getting when trying to connect ?

Sounds like it could be a otg cable or dcan cable issue

jb4 connection failure. I was thinking of purchasing the Bluetooth wireless connect but if its my cable would that affect the Bluetooth device as well?

which cable are you using to connect?

Data cable or OBDII cable

JB4 laptop connection directions = if you are trying to use the mobile app then you will need to connect the Data cable to an OTG (if device doesn't have regular USB connections) then launch the JB4 Mobile app
