Default S63TU Stacking Jb3 stage 2 (with meth) on other Tune? - 04-05-2015, 06:45 AM

Hi Terry,

Can I stack the JB3 stage 2 on another ECU tune for my GC M6?

I'm currently running a XXX tune but wanted more power yet with a option of using meth to cool down the air intake.

1, can I leave it at map 3 & set over boost to 0 or 0.5psi above stock so as to just allow the meth to active? Does that mean whatever the XXX tune set at it will be an extra of 0.5psi above the ECU tune? Does it work this way?

My AFR is still very rich, it can go up to 10.2 at wot above 5800 rpm. Anyway to bring it to 12.5? Seriously I still like the JB3 stage 2 bcos the new tune don't really gain much! Thanks so much for your reply.

Andy

Best to wait for the S63 JB4 to come out, so you can use that to monitor boost, timing AFR, and adjust incremental boost RPM by RPM over what you have. There is a thread in the //M forum about it.

Thanks Terry,

So the 0.5psi above the ECU tune will still work I suppose?

Can't wait to try out before getting the go ahead from you. Thanks.

Terry, u wouldn't believe this! I stack jb3 with meth on my XXX Ecu tune together & the results is unbelievable!

I have gain 0.6sec quicker on a 100-200 run & a 30m down from 325m to a 295m! This is just insane! Best timing for my jb3 with meth was nothing below 7.29sec on the 100-200 run, with my new Ecu tune alone I can't get it go below 7.3sec (quickest 7.305) but when I stack them together on map 3 it was just insane! I can feel the methanol spraying like NOS! The car will just pull like nobody business. Results a gain of 0.6sec & 30m faster!

Thanks everything & for those that r thinking of selling their JB pls don't do it cos u will need it to let the engine produces the right power!

Andy

Good, I'm not surprised. We just need to get JB4 working to monitor afr, timing, etc, and ensure it's all as safe as possible.

AFR was from 12.5 rich up to 11.2 while running thru 5k+ rpm till red line from my WIdeband sensor. Chutch confirmed not holding well.

Hi bud, yes set to 0 on map 3. Meth flow no changes is that easy, my chutch was slipping. Good luck.

what about meth additive what is it set to ? Slipping clutch is no joke. If you burn it it's $$$$$

Meth flow is still at 60 which is max, I have already burned & replace my chutch once when I was on jb3 with race fuel at 7.5psi so no big deal for me. I'm going to upgrade to Dodson very very soon.

I understand your meth flow scaling 0-100 is set to "60" but what about your meth additive ? How much psi you're running over the flash ? How do you control the additive ? Thanks !

Meth additive was mix at 50/50, I set 0 psi above stock on map 3 just to let it run on methanol. Something very weird was the TQ went up by a lot even I set it to 0psi on map 3, whereas if I switch jb to map 0 the extra TQ is gone! I'm suspecting even at 0psi there are still some extra boost there cos I got my clutch start to slip once I push the gas down on 4th gear. I hope I'm wrong on the extra TQ on 0psi at map 3, hopefully is the meth that was pushing the car! The push on the spray was like the kick of the NOS & trust me I'm not joking!!!

I hope Terry can give some advice on the 0psi set on the map 3 & is it better to run 100% pure methanol?

Andy

Ok I don't think you're getting it, 0 psi failsafe is set that if your meth system fails it will drop to 0 psi on map 1, your map 3 will boost based on the meth additive you have set in the methanol settings, i didn't ask for your mixture ratio. Are you sure you're doing everything right ?

Map 3 raises boost as a function of meth in. 0% meth flow = 0psi added. Full meth flow (e.g. up to the meth flow scaling value set) = full meth additive value.

OK so if my meth boost additive is set to 60 with meth flow scale set to 60, how much boost am I getting and how do I lower it ? By lowering meth boost additive correct ? and how much is my meth flow scale should be set at ? is 60 a correct number ? Thanks !

Because I was always under impression that my meth flow should be at 60% and that it has nothing to do with my psi, if I wanted to lower or raise my boost I adjusted meth boost additive anywhere from 40-60

Terry am I right ? Meth scale is just what's going to show on logs correct ? To add boost it's to change meth additive ? so 0 additive would be just meth flow without adding boost ? and that what is Andy is running correct ?

Omg, I'm getting a little confused now. M I also running the right way it should be? I have switch to map 3 bcos I wanted it to run meth to the engine, I change the user adjustable setting to 0 from the existing 3.9psi above stock. And the meth flow I have left it unchange at 60 which is flowing at the max now. So do I got it right? Omg, Terry can u shine some lights pls. Thanks

Logging User Adjustment Methanol Settings

Methanol Boost Additive (0-75) if you set it at 60 means you're running 6psi over stock (with meth)

Meth flow Scaling (0-100) 60 ( That's how it will show on your log, 60 would be full flow )

Start meth flow at (PSI) set at 9.0 ( mean it will start flowing at 9 psi)

User Adjusment

Boost Failsafe PSI set at 3.9 (means 3.9 psi over stock on map 1 or it will switch to 3.9 psi over stock if meth fails )

Meth boost additive (0-75) if I'm not wrong anything more than 60 is consider full spray & not u r running 6psi above stock (with meth)

Meth flow is correct.

Start meth flow at psi is correct.

Terry pls correct us or we will be very confuse!
Also when I run on map 3 with 0 psi above stock why is it so that the car still has more TQ then on map 0? Is it bcos even on map 3 set at 0psi there is already certain boost set in the piggyback system? Pls reply cos I don't want to over boost it. Thanks
Sorry also is it better with pure methanol then 50/50 mix?
