I have the nitrous trigger setup from the DIY on the G4 board...with the external relay.

Right now the jet is small but I'd like to try moving to a little larger .032 jet...I have a .026 right now.

I mean my wiring is done, I guess the G5 would make it cleaner looking...

Got it. Maybe not much benefit for you then. Would need to see logs to determine if anything in the G4 is holding it back.

.046 will be 80-100whp with a dual meth nozzle setup, so CPS is needed there, with the .032 or .036 it seemed to me that the power was a lot less, maybe 30-40whp. I know there are a handful of guys running smaller jets without reducing timing, and have been doing so for some time.

When I get my G5, I'm going to buy an hour at the dyno and play with the different jets, also going to have a dual meth nozzle setup with a valve to shut one nozzle off like hotrod had. So far running dual nozzles on my stock turbos without **/FMIC seems to reduce power somewhat.

I won't be running nitrous in DD trim, purely a seats out/race gas type of setup for me. That being said I may still invest in a wideband, not sure it's needed at the lower power levels but at a .042 or .046 jet there is a lot more going on.

1) Go to the first post in this thread.

2) Download the "interface" and install it. It's a software program.

3) Download the HEX file and save it somewhere you'll remember.

4) Connect your USB cable to the JB4

5) Follow these instructions http://www.n54tech.com/forums/showpo...21&postcount=1

Cool stuff no longer installed.

Also do not forget to run the usb_driver.exe program after running the setup.exe program. You will not be able to connect to the JB4 without running it first.

I have not pulled any timing on it...I have only used one 10lb bottle since Oct. I even have the n20 shut off at like 6600 rpm.

I have only used the .026 jet and you know, you can barely feel the difference. Thats why I wanted to step it up, but 1st priority is replace turbos right now and then last week it was moving my meth to the trunk.

Just confirming we can do the $150 upgrade even if we mod to 15ohm provided the solder job is good. Correct?

Not sure, I was going to head to Lowes and try to find something that will fit with the CoolingMist meth lines I have.

I know others have said before that the meth lines are close to the size of refrigerator lines and such so there are fittings out there that will work, even if they are not the best for high meth content.

Worst case I'll just buy the push-fitting to AN connector from Howerton and I know I can make it work on AN-3 or AN-4 screw in lines.

i bought a copper valve from lowes that was in the same section as the refrigerator fittings and such. looks like the inside diameter of the valve is smaller than the inside diameter of the hose so i guess ill have to go back and find another one. i dont recall there being alot of options though.

Well what's the thread size of the quick connect fittings? 1/8 npt?
Seems like you could find a double female ball valve that would work with those. I have some extra so I'm gonna try.

I just purchased some polyurethane tubing from Home Depot.
It's worked for me and still no problems.

This 5/23 firmware is pretty solid! I'm on a 60:40 91:E85 mix and am getting about 2 psi more. Also not getting any codes, which is good. Previously when I ran map 5, it felt about the same as map 1, but I'd get an exhaust vanos mechanical code, even after swapping and cleaning the solenoids. Could never get the code to throw on map 1 or stock. I also seemed to notice it more when the fuel gauge was less than 1/4 tank full.

Mine did the same thing, just wait a few mintues and it will work again. I believe it has something to do with the DTC or breaking traction, while using or about to be using the Cruise control. I've researched it and its a mystery.

T, you said that the G5 firmware is different than G4, is the interface the same? Also how do I raise or lower the RPM on the 2 step? Am I able to turn the 2 step on/off from the speedo?

Same interface, different firmware. 2step is on menu 8 IIRC.

Terry would it be possible to add in a feature so you have to press 2 buttons to start the engine. For example u would have to press the brake AND press volume up on the steering wheel before the engine start button would work? May be asking too much but I would love this kind of feature as I hear so many BMW's being stolen, and lots of break ins and keys getting stolen. Would be a nice bit of added security.

Put a tracking device on your car. Then if it goes missing, round up a couple of NRA buddies and a juiced up Big Foot, follow the signal!
