Hi,

Thanks for this information. Is there a library for these Fould codes that I look for these codes when I have a problem again?

Greetings Micha

Best to email me for them. The app will have them added on one of the updates.
The list is very comprehensive and has taken years to compile so its not something we release to public as many competing diagnostic products don't have full translations.

Hi,

Your link from top post returns error 404:
Directions on installing the interface and connecting to your JB can be found here http://www.n54tech.com/forums/showpo...21&postcount=1

And I can not start existing app on my hdd, it returns: You cannot start application JB4 from this location because it is alredy installed from a different location.

Can you help me to fix these issues?

Search the JB4 file and remove all that is found and install again.

Hey guys, I am new here.. I recently purchased a new GLI and took my old JB1 Rev1 off my old 16 GTI, and installed it onto my GLI.. It worked just fine and I only ever used Map 1 on the JB1. I just bought the JB4 upgrade board and installed it. I used the White wire from my O2 sensor since i have the black 6 pin connector sensor.

I see all of the different Octane ratings listed on the posts here, and I am from Arizona, So the premium fuel here is listed as 91 octane. ( (R+M)/2 )

My question is whether or not i can use any of the other maps with that fuel since that is all that i can get here. The car is stock other than a drop in K&N filter.

Thank you for any input can provide.

Rule of thumb is map 1 in summer especially since its hot there. In the colder month you can check if map 2 is ok via the logs.
If you got ethanol available you can mix in 3gal to a full tank and go up to map 3.

Hey there sorry if this has been answered but I need to ask.

I have a stock mk7 golf r 6speed dsg and always using 98octane fuel.

Am I able to use map 3 and map 4?

I live in Australia and we are coming into our warmer months so just making sure that these will still be safe to use during summer.

Thanks in advance

For a 6 speed map 3 is good on 98ron. If it goes past 35C switch to map 4 for good measure.

Hello
Question , just installed a CTS down pipe ( high flow *** ) on my 1.8T , currently running map2 93 and all good lots of extra mid-range added from down pipe but find maybe could use bit more in the top end .
Now George you have mention before that map3 on a 1.8t wont do well cos it lucks top end and will straggle ., will the down pipe help and would the map3 be now ok , if not that is fine just would like to see and ask before any changes done.
so mods are intake ,down pipe and throttle adjustment with obd11 and on map2 right now 93

thanks

The issue is flow related on the small Is12 turbo and adding 6 at the top is virtually pointless. With Is12 we taper the top to 4 maximum.

George,
Any cases where JB4 causes code P050A to throw an engine light?
... or is this a unrelated warranty issue and if so would this one require (or recommended) removal of the JB4 prior to visit.

I cleared it once some weeks ago and filled up with fresh 93 then ran Map 0 without issue, or at least it would appear.
Today I left Map 2 loaded and got the fault after using/starting the vehicle a few times.

2019 GTI Rabbit Edition DSG with less than 6,000-miles.
K&N panel filter (mod)
300rms amp/sub (system draw)
Texas heat/humidity (weather conditions)

Thanks!

Hi George,

I had cleared one on September 10th when it first occured using the new Map 3 a short while after update.

Of course, second/current MIL was once I left Map 2 active.

Today I ran with the JB4 was set to 0 with the OBD unplugged and a fresh tank of 93.
The MIL was on earlier but off when I got in the car as of this afternoon and has remained off between restarts so far.

JB4
3AE8 - No Descrition Found

Schwaben VAG Scan Tool
stored
P050A/$07E8 - Cold Start Idle Air Control System Performance

permanent

Any ideas?
Thanks

Default TCU tune advice - 10-02-2019, 07:46 PM

Hi,

New to forum.
Have had my JB4 for over 12 months, currently running map 3 with BMS intake/inlet. Will be having CTS turbo catted ** and Res delete done next week.

Is the cost of a DSG tune ($900) worth the benefits for a better drive? Local installer reluctant to do for me as he is trying to bundle it up with a ECU & DSG tune. Fairly happy with my JB4 and also have early model turbo so can't push the ECU tune too hard anyway.

Any advice will be appreciated!

It sounds like there is a vacuum leak of some kind affecting the idle. If you do take it in its always good practice to remove it.

Been curious how the feedback and results are.

A few mentions of Map3 for hot weather
- is it also a good option during the winter?

Cold fronts have been hitting Texas this month with peak temps dropping as low as 50-60F during the day and winter weather approaches so the question crossed my mind lately.

Thanks!
