Default Noob Question - E85 before or after - 12-19-2018, 09:13 PM

Will e85 have its full effect if I put it on top of half a tank of 91 octane, or does it only work if i put e85 first when the tank is empty?

Don’t think it really matters.. when I fill up with a tank full, I just let the car idle a little to let the fuels mix.. then I’ll drive normally for 5-10 miles.. after that, you should be good to go..

Doesn’t matter

Ethanol content of the e85 being used is more important

I use e85 all the time first time not using map 5 with jb4 had misfires on 3 cylinders. Installed fuel it stage2 lpfp fuel lines did the walnut blast new plugs coils still had misfire on map 2 and 7 but not map 5 finally changed my index 9 injectors to index 12 and now run a e65 mix on map 7 no misfires car pulls hard. If your stock i wouldnt put 8 gallons of e85 in maybe 2 to 4 to start and see how it runs. Also like stated above let it mix for 5 to 10 minutes and i usually put in the e85 first and top off with 91. Another install i did was the fuel it ethanol reader works great tells you e85 content through your phone no cords needed. Play with e85 mixes see what the car likes or doesnt like ot will tell you or use the jb4 logs to see whats going on. 335i FBO JB4+MHD E85 BEF
