you can always flash your transmission to the latest software for it.. once conect4d with winkpf you just choose gk215 and hit program it will automatically choose the latest update for it. n by the way this works the same. for any module you are trying to update on your car.. not just the transmission

After doing the Alpina flash, is there any log or file that get stored that shows what was the original ZB before the Alpina flash?

I mean a friend had flashed the Alpina from his laptop, and he don't know what was the stock ZB prior to the Alpina flash, is there anywhere as log or file will be stored by the WinKFP that can show what was the stock original ZB?

Great write up, helped make this whole process much easy, very happy with the results.

If anyone in Australia near Newcastle wants this, I can help you out.

No one experience this before? It's mostly annoying, not affecting performance.

From the very first post in this thread:

" (some N55 engines which are rare, exhibit the rpms jumping down to zero on each shift but acts normal in every other way..This can be addressed if you update your DME version if you have this erratic rpm issue after flash). "

Thanks again!

Sorry, got an N54. Another guy over on e90post had same issue as you, and fixed it with the DME update. I'd see if you can confirm whether you have an older version or not, and if you do update it to the most current. Wander around and see if you can find any DME update threads, cause if you go to a dealer they'll probably update everything and overwrite your Alpina flash.

From reading all 6 pages I got this:

E60 w/out SAT: flash to SAT only

E60 w/ SAT: you are screwed

Unless, someone was able to crack the files and can flash an Alpina in the regular E60 along with the E60 that come factory with SAT?

Unfortunately, mine came as an M-Sport w/ SAT....so I am screwed. I'm thinking about finding a used 6HP26 and TCU to see if she will bolt up successfully. This would be the ultimate solution for 99% of the N54 communities power levels. NizPro has 6HP26s in Falcons running bottom 9s@150+ making over 1000whp.

I will have EVERY possible upgrade within the next month to my E60 (minus built motor, head work, higher stall torque converter, built tranny).

If our community can swap the 6HP26 along with a built higher stall TQ converter we could potentially knock off a half second in the 1/4.

After you connect and choose Update ZUSB and choose ECU GK215 the program option doesn't show, the program option shows only when choosing Choose ZUSB and selecting ECU GK215 it take you by default to the 1st ZB number which I guess shouldn't be the case because it won't automatically write the latest update and it will write the 1st selected ZB instead,

Or I need to select Enter ZUSB and use my hardware number ?

I'm missing something?

I love write-ups thanks for that.

I've been following this subject closel and probably I have missed it, but can you actually use your Bavarian Technique cable to perform this? It's a INPA Ediabas K+DCAN USB Interface cable correct? Or am I missing something?

Thanks!

I'll bite the bullet and get the 100$ one then. There seems to be a lot of cheap chinese knock-offs out down but they are getting a bad rap.

Thanks for the info!

Default great diy! - 08-15-2016, 11:53 AM

Thank you cn555ic for this great diy.
Today i made the alpina flash with winkfp and it works fine but the shift
Paddels don't work anymore. I have done the job with ncsexpert and the paddels work again.
I'am really happy! I never worked with winkfp or ncsexpert before.

So after I flash I'm getting an error 209.
I was getting a 211 but --> http://blog.uobdii.com/how-to-solve-...h-programming/
fixed that problem.

I'm not sure what to do now. The car can't move because the flash went 100% but the error is preventing something. I'm getting the gear MIL and can't shift from park.

FINALLY got the flash to take.
All I had to do was buy a new laptop, reinstall everything twice and keep trying for another 3 hours.
Pretty easy really.

I just don't get it. I had coded things when I first got the car and did the trans flash. now 7 months later I can't do a thing W/O the car bricking or fighting me every step.

Does V53 datens have to be used for this, or is it possible to use a later datens (e.g V55 / V59) file and just track the latest ZB number update using the .HIS file in the GKE215 data folder?

Thanks

Default Can Someone Help??? - 10-08-2016, 05:52 PM

Hello. Been sorting through all the posts on this thread, and I'm having issues importing the spdaten files to winkfp. I've tried to follow the instructions as listed, but I don't appear to be getting the logistics correct computer wise. I have all the needed programs loaded, just need help getting the them into winkfp so I can do this flash. Any help would be much appreciated!
