Default N55 ***-less down pipe - CEL delete - 06-23-2018, 11:07 AM

I'm looking at getting a ***-less down pipe for my X1. I am fairly new to BMW ownership. I have a JB4 and BMS cold air kit on the vehicle. I was told there is a way through the JB4 to ensure that the CEL doesn't come on. If so, how do I do that? Or am I better off just buying the CEL delete option if available?

I'm in Canada. Does that change anything?

Hey Mike, I'm in Canada as well and ever since I updated my firmware on my JB4 I get a CEL for my **. Can you describe how I can eliminate the code with the JB4?

Thank you.

I think they switched to region recognition so the software should recognize it and then you can use one of the bits in user adjustments to enable that feature. Im Canadian as well but don't have a jb4 at the moment, its been awhile since my m235i so I don't know the new software.

Thanks for the information, I'll have a look in user adjustments today.

Worked like a charm! Thanks for posting the link.

Ryan - great news my friend, if you following the link you will be able to ensure passive codes are deleted automatically by the jb4.

When you connect to the jb4, click user adjustments and make sure "Country" is set to Canada. Then click WMI and on the right hand side under ethanol setup click the "passive delete" checkbox and save.
