I played WC3 Dota on and off since 2005. Never got into Dota 2, but I still played Dota 1 up until about last year. Im sure a lot has changed, as always lol

5930k @ 4.4Ghz, GTX 980 OC - Waiting for the new HDR-QD monitors to hit and I'll probably upgrade to a 1080 Ti hybrid and a Gsync monitor.

I've noticed a lot of people who tune their cars are also overclockers.

Don't waste your money on a hybrid solution, these cards really don't overclock much better on water. If you want it for the cool factor than by all means =-p. It is interesting that car modders seem to overclock their cars too..lol. I'm actually in process of building a 7980XE build, been waiting for a tracking number from amazon since October 20th.

The hybrids seem to hold their clocks better under boost/OC. I also like the efficiency of removing the heat from the case. The extra cost isn't a big issue if you are already in the 1080 Ti bracket. Be nice if someone made a 240 or 280 AIO though. If I had the time/budget I would consider a custom loop again, but those days for me may be past.

Its funny though, when you consider the costs of modding/maintaining a high performance car, and compare it to your PC building costs, the component prices start to seem more reasonable. Especially when I consider I spend more time on my PC than driving.

What kind of build are you doing with the monster 7980? I've been considering the 8700k to replace my aging X99, and maybe a 8700 non-K for my non-gaming PC.

I am going to be using the Asus APEX board, since it is supposed to be the best overclocking board. I will be using my old watercooling setup which is a HeatKiller IV Copper, and the Mo-Ra3 PRo 140mm which is seen here http://watercool.de/en/mo-ra3-0
I will be using my old video card which is a regular GTX1080. Also will be using dual Samsung m.2 SSD in RAID 0, been using RAID on and off since 2006(when I graduated HS...hah!) Will be using G.Skill 32 Gigs in Quad channel at 4133 MHz, which Asus claims the board will run. Will also be getting a new case, which is yet to arrive, called the BH-8 from Case Labs, which is a local manufacturer for PC cases. I will also be upgrading my EVGA 850 G2 PSU to the EVGA 1000 Watt Titanium PSU, think that retails for an almost ridiculous 300 USD. I don't need the power, but I find it entertaining. Know any buyers of a 5960X build which runs 4.6 GHz? lol
