Sign me up!
Wish MHD would consider developing a flash for the early N55 with MEVD172.

Do we even need this list? Of course we all would like another evolving option for flashing. Why wouldn't we?

The reason why this list was put together is because when it initially started over at BimmerBoost Dmac asked to put together a list to see if enough people were interested.

Sorry jyamona I don't know why I got you confused with Dmac.

Thanks for responding.

LOL I know the ball dropped on this but someone was supposed to do something about it. Let me look back and see who it was.

Remapping MAP voltage would be at the top of my list as well. Want to run the N20 sensor with Cobb tune.

The guy above who said he had a WinOLS damos file won't respond. I asked for it here and in PM.

I had my ECU unlocked by ESS Tuning so I should be able to flash mine too if there was only a tool to do it.

Still trying to see what's going on with this. We were asked to start a thread over on bimmerboost to see who would be interested, so we did...the ball kinda dropped there.

I had some more flashing done on my car through obd today. The tuner showed me in winols all the things he could change.

We tried lowering ignition adv and increasing load and setting proper afr for the higher load. The ign adv seems to be working but the afr changes are not. We set afr to richest 11.9 at 7k rpm and leaner in lower rpm but in jb4 logs we always see afr dropping to low 11's and even high 10's. And then we get missfires.

So i kinda give up for now flash tuning my car. It seems not all tables are known yet and the dme runs values of some other part in dme that must trigger these rich afrs.

Maybe in the future. Time will tell. But stock flash and jb4 runs pretty nice together.

I did a few logs with my flash + JB4 yesterday. Quite surprised what I got. My car was not flashed on a dyno so not running 100% on the flash alone. Car was running good before the flash so I will probably go back to stock flash.

Not what I expected to see on map4!

Timing seems to be mapped too high for a flash?

Anyway since you are ISO you would need to manually dial in duty bias. It's clearly too high here at these targets. The flash target itself is a bit odd though. You have meth right? Log map 3 w/ say a 40 additive and then adjust duty bias as needed to get boot on target.

Alternatively you could flash non-ISO firmware and remove the blue boost control patch to evaluate the flash only mapping.

The flash itself (not running JB4) does not work well enough. Something wrong with the wg duty cycle so the boost is oscillating. "mail order" flash so I guess that can be expected.

Ill be back to stock map asap.

Attached the flash only logged with Torque.

I would not rush to ditch the flash yet and instead would focus on dialing in the ISO. We just so happen to be working on that right now. You'd need to switch over to an OBDII CANbus connection to enable the newest stuff. But that is a lot of fun anyway. In dash boost gauge comes in handy when troubleshooting.

You can always ditch the flash in a week or two after you determine its not helping.

Thanks for the recommendation, but I dont want to use JB4 as a band aid. I cannot live with having a limp car.

It's a details business. If the details are right you might be better off with the flash in place. Or might now. I'm curious myself. You'd have to master those details though.

We've redone the F series ISO firmware in an OBDII format and as part of that process redoing the base boost control which I think will make dialing in things like your Stage1 turbo a lot easier.
