Default E92 n54 smokes when coming to a stop(but very weird) - 05-12-2019, 10:59 AM

It smoke only when not in sport mode. It's a automatic.
Rb external pcv, bms high side catch can as well.
Head was rebuilt 3k miles ago, 3k on oem style turbos.

Why would it only smoke outside of sport mode??

No smoke at wot, or cruising or when leaving from a stop. Only as the car comes to a stop and drops down to idle.

Check for clogged turbo drain lines. Oil pooled in lines could be forced back into hot turbo upon deceleration.

Thank you, I'll try that. But why does it not smoke in sport mode? I mean I can still smell the oil in exhaust but no visible smoke in sport mode

I have no idea about sport mode. I just know i had the same problem and it was because of clogged drain lines.

Something similar happened to me, changed turbos and my problem was still present, I changed the valve cover and it continued to smoke, and as a last hope I removed the head of the engine I gave it a brush, I changed the exhaust and valves and I no longer smoke ,

my 951 had leak on seal of brake bias valve, dripped onto cup turbo, smell in vent, at breaking zones. Jk RECALLS because drip onto exhaust fires. I filmed some 07 Jeeps burn down while driving my TJ on 33s
