Default N55 confusions - 10-31-2016, 01:16 PM

I have had my 2011 335ix for just over 1 month now so i'm rather new to the issues it can present. I've since installed an E series N55 JB4 (2 weeks ago) and a ER chargepipe (last thursday). The other day i was looking at the placement of the fuel pump (pulling the seats up to look) as that's probably going to be the next thing i add. After putting the seats back in, i went to the store and i had a half engine light come on. I pulled the codes through the JB4 and this is what they said:

2C58 No Description Found
2C6F No Description Found
281A No Description Found
281B No Description Found
2C70 No Description Found

I've tried looking at the codes and am kind of thinking that it might be the pressure sensor on the charge pipe was somehow damaged...

Any thoughts? i can upload logs if that would help!

Sounds like the pressure sensor. Did you make sure the connection is seated all the way? If it is, take it out and make sure it clean. From what I could find, those codes point towards the pressure sensor.

2C58 = Boost pressure control deactivation: Boost pressure build up blocked
2C6F = Boost pressure sensor, electrical: Short circuit B+
281A = Absolute pressure sensor, intake pipe, electrical: Short circuit to B+
281B = Absolute pressure sensor, intake pipe, electrical: Short circuit to earth
2C70 = Boost pressure sensor, electrical: Short circuit to earth

I think I'd be re-checking that JB4 install and the TMap on the CP

what do you think i should particularly look at? i checked over all of the plugs and they seem to be seated properly. When i unplugged the MAP sensor and plugged into the original, i only got the codes:
2C58 No description found
2C6F No description found

I removed the TMAP sensor and cleaned it (even though it looked clean) and tried plugging the original one to test it. but i still got the all the errors stated above...

I'm gonna take the JB4 out in a couple of days and reinstall it and see if that fixes it. Let me know if you have any other advice! I appreciate the insight so far!

I had the same problem and codes was you descibre, and the codes appears and disappears for no reason. There are days in the morning the engine light rises and the other day, it simply disappears.

Today I was traveling with a family and simplified the codes persisted for every trip, at this time, the car is in the garage cooling down, tomorrow when I turn it can be that the problem occurs or not.
I looked in various forms about these codes and found no reason to look, I need a Burger expert's opinion.

This problem is pretty annoying and I'm losing the horn in jb4

I've had this problem on and off since October when I replaced an older JB4.
Wouldn't be suprised if there is a board or chip issue.
My connections are all A1.

The temporary cure is disconnecting the battery and re-connecting. Re-flash the JB4 firmware.

As I said, this morning with the cold car, I turned on the ignition and soon the errors came, I tried to erase the codes, but they are erased and then return. I decided to follow the advice of our colleague Stoolz, I disconnected the negative of the battery and reconnected, immediately the error disappeared and everything returned to work, I did not have to re-flash the Jb4.
Thanks Stoolz!!
I believe that there is some BUG in Jb4, I believe the Burger people should give attention and these problems reported.
Are there any Burger members here on the forum?

Stoolz, have you ever tried to contact them?

I have had this issue for a long time and always reconnecting battery every few startups. ( F30 N55 )

Do you have a Bluetooth module connected?
if so make sure the power(red) wire is connected to the 2 red wires from jb4
NOT THE SAME wire that takes 12v directly from the terminal(+)

*There are 3 red wires in Jb4 one of them is direct to terminal for power.

Faults could be from anything... They just mean the dme lost contact with the sensors for a moment.

Yes, i have a bluetooth module and the red wire is connected directly from the fuse according to what the manual.
I think the F30 N55 is different circuit from the E90 N55, because i have 4 wires from Jb4 (Black - ground, red - positive, green - CAN, brown - CAN).
Right?

Right?
so is yours connected to the jb4 power wire (12v) ?
bluetooth needs (5v) only which can be taken from the other red wires as far as i know for F30.
could use a picture of your install. keep the red wires spread out so we can see.

yes, the instructions aren't clear, I had a thread with this issue and nobody figured it out.

you need to disconnect the bluetooth red from the main jb4 wire (terminal 12v) and connect it to another (5v)red wire.

I hope it fixes the issue.

Ok. My connection was to power 12v not the red 5v.
I'm super stupid and super happy at the same time.

Are you asking about connecting the bluetooth module? If so, it's one of the red wires in the bundle of wires contained within the wire loom.

Heads up, same exact story on my 1er. Switched the wires and codes went away right away.

I think I have this problem too. Same codes and CEL's happen randomly. Bought the JB4 a month ago new and have been having problems since. I do have the bluetooth adapter.

I connected the Rev3 BT to the JB4 red wire seated with the 50amp fuse. Is this correct? I connected BT to the JB4 power wire.
