Default Drivetrain Malfunction - 05-14-2016, 07:15 PM

I was cruising today...then floored the car and it bucked/hesitated and the "Drivetrain Malfunction" popped up and I had to coast to a stop as car had no power...I shutdown & restarted and the code cleared, Log attached...anything off on it?

I got no check engine codes when I read the DME.

Hard to say without actually seeing the code.
Was this a log of the actual occurrence?

Default Intercooler or Meth Kit?? - 05-17-2016, 02:06 PM

Hey Steve,

I live in Jamaica and ambient temp right now is 90*F to 100*F what do you recommend to run lower IAT an intercooler or Meth Kit?

I know both will be best (I most likely will buy both) but can't them at the same time right now, so trying to decide which to go with first.

I mostly do stop & go driving vs. highway driving. Today I saw my IAT on JB4 at 141* F and I was just driving around in traffic and not boosting the car.

Thanks for the advice

I'd go with meth first without question. Better IAT's and octane!

Default E85 with 90 octane - Log's Map 1, 2 & 5 - 05-26-2016, 10:03 PM

Hey Steve,

Mixed 3 gallons of E85 with 8 to 9 gallons of 90 octane and did some log's please review and let me know how they look...thanks.

I have also upgraded to the latest firmware as well.

With the E85 mix my car pulled very strong on both Map 1 & 2. Map 2 is how I want my car to feel all the time hahaha

I did a few runs on Map 5 but they all were jerky and got a lot of hesitations...i managed to get one good run & attached that also so you may review. Map 5 did make my Ign. avg drop though...which is a good thing I would image.

I have lost connectivity with my JB4 as I was switching Map's...now I keep getting an ERROR message and my bluetooth can't connect I got it to connect once and when I went to switch the Map's it was flickering between Map 1 & 0 repeatedly and then the app quit and won't connect again...What do you think?

Oh, and I also got code 122108 BOV Plausibility - Ignore, tuner code...should I worry about that code??

Thanks!

Looks pretty normal. You won't be able to run much more E85 due to your trims and FOL, so I'd recommend staying with that mix and setting your FOL to 90.

As for the connectivity, I'd make sure the connections are good. Sounds like it may be losing power or ???

Thanks for review Steve.

If I want to run more E85 I will need to upgrade my LPFP? correct?

I'm not sure what happened to the JB4 connection...I'm going to double check wiring again. It connected this morning, but I haven't driven the car since.

That BOV Plausibility error code I got is ok?

Thanks,
J

Hey Steve/Terry,

I'm having a connection issue with my JB4 via rev3 Bluetooth...I disconnected battery and reconnected battery then my mobile is able to connect to JB4 but if I change any setting under the user adjustments it writes the adjustment then the app goes crazy and flickers between map 1 & 2 then quits the app and won't reconnect. So I have to pull battery then reconnect to JB4 and do it all over again...what do u think?

What wire are you connecting the rev. 3 power wire to?

Steve,

See images attached...JB4 & Rev3 share the same power source (I used the opposite end of the +ve pole as I had no 50 Torx to pull it) and ground for JB4 is on shock tower.

Looks ok?

Thanks,
J

For the F-series Rev 3 kit, you should be using the red power wire off the JB4 harness' DB25 connector.

I'd suggest contacting Donnie for input.

Make sure you're running the latest software version as well.

Default Map 5 on E30!! Whoaa! - 06-09-2016, 10:43 PM

Hey Steve,

Did some new log's tonite...please review them and let me know how they are looking, thanks

So I did some Map 5 runs on E30 and my car feels the strongest ever & actually has a smoother transition of power & drivability!! After doing some Map 5 runs I switched back to Map 2 and did a few runs...the pulls were way better on Map 5 though.

Wondering if my AFR's are OK?

Also, got this code: 102A22 MAF, air mass too high, do you know what this is a symptom from?

Thanks,
J

I believe that is a tuner code.

Your trims are pretty high and they are intermittently going in to open loop forcing you to run lean.

I'd probably back off on the E85 concentration to see if that resolves the issue.

Hey Steve, thanks for the review.

I will adjust the concentration of E85 as recommended and see how it goes...I'm around E30 now, in your estimation what should I decrease it to? (i.e. E "what")

How can I know when it goes into "open loop" from the data log?

Thanks for info.

Trims flatline at 25 when it goes in to open loop.

I'd try E20.

Thanks Steve...I was on a full tank of E30 on 1st set of logs, I now topped up to make the mixture E25...will try and log that mixture, then dilute it further to bring me down to E20 and then log that again.

Steve,

I would like to get the most out of my car on a E30 mix, I like the higher octane that E30 provides...what would you recommend (what are my options) to get solid trims & AFR's?

1) invest in a BEF from Enzo? Where they can tweak fuel tables further, etc?

2) Run E30 with a Meth Kit (50/50 meth/water mixture)?

3) LPFP kit?

Thanks!
