Default Benefit of JB4 with my MHD?? 340i M Sport - 11-15-2019, 07:21 AM

Hey all. I'm sure this has probably been beaten to death but on the B58 platform what are my benefits if any for running the JB4 with a BEF from my MDH. I currently have the MDH alone. I am not planning to run methanol but am planning to do Full E85 when the XDI pump is available.

Thanks in advance!!

Hi,

I am debating too. Would love to see some straight MHD alone WOTs without WMI and JB4.

Do you have any WOTs you could share? I currently run Map6 5.5 straight. Very fast but choppy.

Alex

2017 340iX with M track handling package, 6 speed manual, BMS intake, and JB4 piggyback; EWG and FP wires; 93 octane; and fun with Honda S2000; Ninja Z1000.

The JB4 is a tuning tool so what you do with it depends on what your needs are. With E85 mixtures being able to read a flex fuel sensor and adjust boost based on E85 mixture will be useful, as well as the advanced safety systems on fuel pressure and air/fuel. On the fly map switching is also very useful. One of the best benefits though is the free tuning maps and ease of adjustment.

Here are some stage 2 93oct MHD logs with just the tune car is bone stock other than the MHD. Keep in mind that it was near freezing temp outside so boost may look a psi or 2 low.
